🚨 A new study CONFIRMS that Google is interfering in U.S. elections.
Republican fundraisers lost $117 MILLION in donations after email providers—primarily Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo—flagged GOP fundraising emails as spam at higher rates while allowing more Democratic fundraising emails through.
The study, authored by Dr. Cameron Ellis of the University of Iowa and Dr. Lars Powell of the University of Alabama, analyzed itemized FEC donation records to separate first-time donors from repeat donors across Republican WinRed and Democratic ActBlue.
The researchers then tracked donation patterns during two periods of increased spam filtering last year.

Both Big Hospitals and Big Insurance are using AI tools to either seek more reimbursements or to deny more claims.
The result: AI providers make a lot of money, individuals pay higher premiums and have more denials, and nobody gets healthier.
🦔The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association says insurers paid out nearly $1 billion more than usual from AI-assisted hospital documentation in 2024-2025. Hospitals use AI to scan records and find secondary diagnoses that human reviewers missed. More diagnoses means higher reimbursements. But treatment levels haven't gone up.
BCBSA's SVP of data science said AI is "identifying more billable conditions, not sicker patients." Insurers now deploy their own AI to deny those same claims. Patients pay for both through higher premiums.
My Take
This might be the most American healthcare story I've ever read. Hospitals bought AI to find more things to bill for. Insurers bought AI to deny those bills. The technology cost money on each end and the tab went straight to patients through higher premiums. A billion dollars moved and no one got any healthier. The only thing that changed was the size of the invoices.
Two sides of a trillion-dollar industry found a new tool to fight over the same pool of money and the person in the hospital bed pays for all of it. Premiums go up, denials go up, and the AI vendors collect from everyone. If you want to know who AI works for, stop reading the press releases and look at where the money goes. In healthcare it went straight into the billing department.

Brad applied to hundreds of jobs in Bentonville. He made it through round after round of interviews and still didn’t get hired. He’s sitting on $40,000 in debt for the education he was told would give him a future.

Jeremy, I read the study. There’s one big problem: it doesn’t actually study OPT.
It shows that many eventual prize winners came to America as students.
It does NOT show that they used OPT.
It does NOT show that OPT is why they stayed.
And it does NOT show that eliminating OPT would have prevented them from remaining through another legal pathway.
“Came here as a student” ≠ “OPT created a superstar.”
Where is the evidence that OPT itself caused the outcome?
Sometimes I hear people say we don't need OPT because we have the O-1.
But that's not how America recruits superstar talent in real life.
