🌱 Passionate. Energised. Full of ideas.
That’s how one Change Maker described her team’s reaction after our recent day at Madresfield Estate — and we couldn’t ask for better feedback.
Although Joanne Fitzgerald from Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust couldn't attend herself, her team came back buzzing with ideas, with one message from Madresfield’s butcher really striking a chord:
🇬🇧 ▶️ Focus on the quality of the meat, not simply the price ◀️ 🇬🇧
It’s exactly why we bring Public Sector Catering and British farming together — to share knowledge, challenge assumptions and find better ways to get great British food from field to fork.
Connecting people. Sharing ideas. Creating change. 🇬🇧🌱
Thank you, Joanne, for such lovely feedback — and to everyone who made Madresfield such a brilliant day.

🌱 This week, we’re celebrating the farmers helping shape the future of British food.
Regenerative Farming Week is a chance to recognise the work happening across British farms to build resilience, improve soil health and support nature.
There’s no one-size-fits-all route to a more sustainable food system, but there is a need for all parts of the food chain to work together.
From farm to fork, every part has a role to play.
Next up, we’ll be celebrating the food that brings us all together during British Food Fortnight, 26 September–11 October. 🇬🇧

🌱 Field to fork. Farm to public sector catering. 🇬🇧
Today at Madresfield Estate, we brought public sector caterers closer to British farming — seeing first-hand how food is produced and exploring how stronger connections can help build a more sustainable, resilient food supply chain.
A brilliant day of shared knowledge, fresh perspectives and British food.
What a great way to mark Back British Farming Day. 🇬🇧

Who feeds our schools, hospitals, care homes & universities matters.
The decisions made by public sector caterers don't just shape menus – they shape the future of British farming, food security and the resilience of our supply chains.
For more than 12 years, Love British Food has been championing British farming and food at the heart of the Public Sector Catering Alliance. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we're looking forward to the @PSCMagazine Public Sector Catering Alliance Forum, where the conversation must move beyond how much British food we buy to how we build resilient local, regional and national supply chains that support British farmers for the long term.
By November, 250 public sector caterers will have taken part in Love British Food's on-farm training programme, helping to influence menu choices and procurement decisions through first-hand experience of British farming.
Because every procurement decision is an opportunity to strengthen British agriculture, invest in our food security and put more British food on public sector plates.
