Today, students were thrilled to welcome Tia Fisher, acclaimed author of Crossing the Line, back to school for a special visit. Tia came to promote her brand-new book, Not Going to Plan, which delves into themes closely linked to topics currently explored in citizenship lessons.

This is such great news, not least because the prize is for books for 8-12 year olds, a category regularly sidelined by the Carnegie Awards - and yet primary school is the place where life-long readers begin. theguardian.com/books/2025/o…
