The UIL approved a mandated 35-second shot clock for basketball starting in 2028-29 school year for 6A and 5A, with other classes to adopt it in following years. 6A and 5A schools would have the option to use it in the 2027-28 school year.

Controversial take: Most โpreferred walk-onsโ at mid-majors are just kids who got sold a dream so the program could fill a roster spot without using a scholarship. And there are travel coaches that want you to take them just so they can say another kid went D1 from their program. Not caring what happens long-term.

A lot of recruiting services have convinced families that paying someone $2,500 or more to tell them their child is underrated constitutes a legitimate recruiting strategy.

Players & parents, DO NOT let your kids play for coaches that tell them not to shoot mid range shots.Guys were scoring & teams were doing just fine with the middie. Itโs an opinion and in basketball if one person says something people copy cat. Itโs the dumbest shit I ever heard

Iโd say 99% of people that say โjust go JUCO and transfer upโ..
Genuinely are ignorant to the inner workings of college athletics.

This part.
From @TheAthletic: The memory of Kobe Bryant's death lingers as LeBron James uses helicopters to get to 76ers practices. "Somewhere below, on a thousand glowing phones, strangers were begging him," our columnist writes. "Take the car. Please. Why risk it?" nyti.ms/4y2oc82

Aledo Basketball was locked in at the Crowley Shootout.
The Bearcats gave another look at a competitive group continuing to build toward the season, bringing toughness, energy and confident play across the floor. Aledo continues to sharpen its chemistry and establish the habits that will define this group when the games count.
Plenty to like from the Bearcats as they keep putting the pieces together.
College coaches can track Aledo Basketball on the Revocruit software.

Unrealistic offers make players feel they are that level and turn their nose up to their real level ! And the early offers also make their real level not recruit them because they feel that canโt get them

I wish more adults showed kids how to tie their passions to a more stable career. Canโt make it to the NBA? Why not go into sports law, sports medicine, or sports/entertainment consulting?
