The pure aesthetics of OCM Genesis and cryptopunks is something that is going to be heavily discussed in the decades to come.
But there is an objective truth that both the art of OCM Genesis and cryptopunks is significant because of the innovative code that is on-chain. Punks with the smart contract on ETH and OCM with the many firsts on Bitcoin.

People have been asking me what's going on with OCM? What's the news? 👇
The news is that OCM is an OG Bitcoin NFT community that's been building in Ordinals since the beginning, and the founders have been building in Bitcoin for more than a decade. Building for the long-term success of Bitcoin. For Innovation and Impact.
OCM Genesis is the true first 10k Collection on Bitcoin. OCM Genesis was inscribed in a way that is now the standard way for collections to be inscribed on Bitcoin, using Parent-Child and Recursion. The Collection was inscribed before the Ordinals Protocol had support for it, being so early, the entire OCM Genesis collection was cursed.👹
What people may not realize is that collecting Ordinals is about collecting Sats. When you collect a valuable Ordinal, you are collecting a rare Sat. The OCM Genesis Collection is a collection of the rarest Sats. Sats with a rich history and cursed multple times. Of all the Sats ever to exist on Bitcoin, there are only a handful of Sats more cursed than an OCM Genesis Sat.
OCM Genesis is the most Cursed Collection of Sats - cursed for being the first 10k Collection on Bitcoin.🤌

Why did I buy this OCM Genesis?
Narrative around ordinals is currently focused on a few popular projects and could then be extended to the entire provenance-related ecosystem.
This symbolic monkey is a standing choice for these reasons:
@OnChainMonkey was one of the pioneering OG projects on ETH (minted 2021), and they pivoted to Bitcoin before anyone else at their own risk.
It turned out to be a W strategic choice for a collection based on art and provenance:
1. First 10k images of a collection inscribed on Bitcoin: Inscription 20219
2. First on-chain 10k PFP collection created using a single Ethereum transaction when first launched on Ethereum on September 2021
This is historic, and that's not all:
- The btc inscription number for Genesis of 20219 matches the exact year and month that Genesis was first launched on Ethereum, 2021-9
- First 10k collection to use Parent-Child Provenance
- First 10k collection inscribed on Block 9 sats & 450x sats
- Smallest total file size for a 10k collection of images at 1.06 MB
- First 10k collection to officially migrate from Ethereum to Bitcoin
I'm just impressed by the early vision and the work done by @huuep & @amandaterry.
The kind of purchase you put in your vault and forget about it like a fine wine.
