The biggest issue with the Chargers? The owner’s son being employed as their President of Football Operations. The Chargers are the only franchise in the NFL to do so.
People will be fired. But until John Spanos loses his title, the Chargers will never capture real success.

Adam Schefter is a owner and investor of two sports betting apps. Within a span of hours he tweeted that Jalen Hurts wouldn’t be put on injured reserve. Hours later the eagles put Hurts on IR. How is this not investigated?

Acknowledging that Michael Rubin--a billionaire former team owner with a monopoly on sports apparel and gambling--holds outsized power over the NBA, but concluding that Pablo is "snitching" by reporting on him... it's just such braindead, anti-intelligent, bootlicking bullshit.

Pablo Torre is an Ivy League taught journalist*, not a jock sniffer. That’s the problem in this new age of reporting/journalism. Love Carmelo, but he too old to still be on that Baltimore “Stop Snitching” stuff.

It’s fascinating that Adam Schefter reported this way on Marvin Harrison Jr. after an offseason where he clearly collaborated with the 49ers on Shanahan’s accident and learned of his conflicts of interest with Robert Kraft (Boom Entertainment).
He either thinks we are stupid or he thinks is he is too big to fail and can just keep getting away with this stuff without losing credibility.
Hubris.

its funny how last year when herbert had the 32nd ranked o-line, a broken hand, and still won 11 games and led the chargers to playoffs, this wasnt even a topic. but now that the team is doing bad, all of a sudden hes distracted? former players too btw, youd think theyd know ball
Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco looked up Madison Beer while discussing Justin Herbert’s POOR performances this season, leading to the Chargers being 0-5, and instantly understood why he might be DISTRACTED 😭💀

This snuck by me at the time, but with recent context it may have signaled the beginning of the end for the Spanos ownership of the Chargers.
Quick summary: The Spanos family has had two recent ownership sales where they sold off ownership stakes for cash flow, despite the NFL's 10% flip tax. They followed that up with the 31st-highest cash payroll in 2026, only spending more than the Dolphins, who are clearing out a TON of dead cap. They did so with a team that clearly justified "win now" investment.
The details: Dea sued her family to force a sale, citing fiscal irresponsibility and too much debt on their trust's books.
They settled by selling her shares (trust included) to Gores, while selling an extra 1% from each sibling, giving themselves a little extra cash.
Important note: Under relocation rules, they were subject to a 10% "flip tax" charged on ownership sales within the relocation window.
Despite this, the remaining Spanos siblings followed up with a second selloff seven months later, selling 8% to private equity that was also subject to the 10% flip tax.
That's like cashing out of your 401(k) early with no exceptions and swallowing the 10% penalty. No one with a healthy balance sheet does that.
Pair that with their absurdly low cash spending this year, and there is plenty of reason to believe the family is trending toward a sale.
For reference, since 1970, 11 teams have been sold within 10 years of the controlling owner passing, five of which were run by heirs before they chose to sell. Thirteen have made it past the 10-year window without selling.
The Spanos family just doesn't look to be trending in the right direction.
#Chargers have requested approval to sell an 8% stake in the club to private investment firm Arctos, per sources. If sale is approved at May league meetings, Dean Spanos and his family would retain control of the club and own approximately 61% of the club.

Disgusting work from everyone involved on the offensive side of the ball, including the decision-makers that built it.

This reeks of prediction market manipulation. Finalizing a trade and doesn’t say the team. Weird.
Breaking: the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade WR Marvin Harrison, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
The team informed Harrison this morning that he will be inactive for Sunday’s game vs Detroit as details of the trade are finalized.
