Senate President Ben Albritton, who presided over the 30–9 vote to put Amendment 3 on the ballot, now says he’ll vote NO on Amendment 3. He warns rural counties could lose up to 30% of their resources, threatening law enforcement, emergency services, and infrastructure. I respect Ben and appreciate his willingness to speak candidly about the consequences. But perhaps this is exactly why the Legislature should have required comprehensive fiscal modeling and local impact analysis before putting it on the ballot. These questions deserved answers before the vote, not months afterward. floridapolitics.com/archives…

In my final letter to Wendell Berry, I told him I was a history major at @Hillsdale College. He responded, “I hope you will continue your interest in history… to understand that no history is final, like the dates on a gravestone, but must be written, read, and thought about again and again.”

🚲 Heads up, St. Pete — bikers AND drivers! We just rolled out something new: modular traffic lane separators (aka "zippers") designed to give cyclists extra protection on narrow bike lanes. 📍 Find them on First Avenue North, between 20th St and 28th St.

my point is that neither is fully correct or wrong it is true that contemporary evangelicalism is lacking in terms of a coherent and systematic account of the social/political and that the Reformed tradition has a rich legacy on these matters that has been neglected
I’ve got evangelical scholars on my timeline arguing simultaneously that: 1) Reformed interest in political theology is a distracting fad and 2) that pietistic Calvinism was problematically underdeveloped in social teaching
