I truly cannot imagine being this smug after abandoning the city you were mayor of while unsuccessfully running for governor and then leaving the city with a $250 million budget deficit
Replying to @terrencemcd
I tried, but even the witch couldn’t work with James. She resigned too. I’m sure he’ll blame me for that as well.

.@JoelBrooks4JC: "We are governing under Mayor Solomon’s administration, but in a reality and structure, left to us by Mayor Fulop and our predecessor council. I don’t fault my predecessors. I’ve seen Fulop obfuscate, bully, and outright lie to achieve what he wanted."

The Resident Response Center (RRC) are the problem-solvers of Jersey City government. This year, they're resolving work orders & resident complaints at a much faster rate than last year in every Ward--doing more with less as we address our budget crisis and deliver for residents.

Blown away. Turns out Steve Fulop ran Jersey City into the ground financially. Boy did he do a good job of tricking people. He's now the President of the Partnership for New York City, a business advocacy group.
Since 2021, tax revenue has not kept up with the cost to keep Jersey City functioning. Swipe to understand how we got here, and how each of the three entities’ increases will impact the average homeowner.

Steve Fulop is now President & CEO Partnership for NYC. Not such a bright move on the part of the Board.
"Steve Fulop had left that city in $250 million in debt. It was almost insurmountable." We are grateful to Gov. Sherrill for recognizing the depth of the financial crisis Jersey City was left in, and working with Jersey City to secure the largest aid package in NJ history.

Today I announced a revised plan to bring the tax increase down to 15%. Those who broke Jersey City's finances broke basically everything else in our government. By fixing our finances, we lay the foundation to rebuild government and make it work for you--Jersey City residents.

.@SolomonforJC held an impromptu presser during the council meeting. "We are not moving forward with any land sales that were not moving already, right? We have not looked at city assets & said 'we're gonna sell this because of the budget crisis.'" MORE: hudsoncountyview.com/all-jer…
🚨 Jersey City Mayor Solomon is postponing the City Council vote on Q3 tax bills with a 20% rate hike he proposed. “I must be direct with the residents of Jersey City – reducing and spreading this increase out over time will come at a cost to services we all rely on every day."
