Working to detect lies and smears from Naheed Nenshi and the Alberta NDP!

Albertans' personal voter information was allegedly disclosed without authorization by the Alberta Republican Party. The Chief Electoral Officer called publicly for stronger safeguards, and our government acted immediately to suspend distribution of the voters list while the investigations run their course. Then something strange happened. The Alberta NDP went to court to stop us and keep things as they were. The court ruled against them. So here is the question Albertans deserve an answer to. Why did the NDP spend its time and its money fighting protections for your personal information? And of all the hills in this province, why did they choose to die on this one, shoulder to shoulder with the Alberta Republican Party? Two parties who agree on nothing found the one thing they could agree on. It was not protecting your data.

Anti-Pipeline NDP leader, @avilewis, is @nenshi’s boss. Under Alberta NDP constitution section 1.02: the provincial NDP “constitutes a section” the federal NDP. And under section 3.07: the Federal NDP can even make resolutions to govern the provincial party

Avi Lewis is Naheed Nenshi’s NDP boss. Lewis wants to stop Alberta’s pipeline. Kill jobs. Nenshi won’t stand up to him.

The leader of the NDP. @nenshi’s boss.
Throwing billions in public money behind a pipeline at a time of climate breakdown – while sweeping aside environmental protections, meaningful Indigenous consultation and workers’ right to strike – is absolutely not in the national interest. This is just another gift to an oil industry already on track to make $100 billion in wartime profits this year alone. We pay, we take on the risk, and they reap the rewards.

Change the name. Cut affiliation.
🚨BREAKING The federal NDP and Avi Lewis @avilewis just released a statement opposing the new pacific link pipeline and demanding it be halted. They oppose Alberta's Pacific Link pipeline and they will do everything in their power to kill it. Understand what this means... This would kill 140,000 jobs. Stop tens of billions in new wealth for Albertans to build things like hospitals and schools. Lost jobs and lower paycheques for Alberta families. Today I am calling on Naheed Nenshi @nenshi to do what he should have done a long time ago. Cut ties with his boss, Avi Lewis and the federal NDP. Officially, formally, in writing today. A clean break, right down to the name of their party. Not doing so tells Albertans all they need to know about where the NDP stands on Alberta energy… which is “leave it in the ground”.

Piles of garbage dumped on your street, on farmland, in ditches. Your community and our environment deserve better than this. We are cracking down on illegal dumping and raising standards for higher-risk waste facilities. Break the law in Alberta and there will be serious consequences. NDP Lie Detector retweeted
Oh just Naheed Nenshi using his Truth and Reconciliation Day post to score cheap political points against his opponent, rather than attempting to bring folks together on this special day. Absolutely classless. Wonder if the media will bother to ask him about him politicizing this day in that way? Wont hold my breath.
Today we honour residential school survivors and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on individuals, families and entire communities. Indigenous People have been hurt throughout the history of Canada, particularly through residential schools and other racist policies. And so, this year, it’s remarkable to me that Indigenous People from across the province are united in defense of Canada. It’s also disheartening to see how poorly Danielle Smith and her UCP government are treating Indigenous People, including her Minister of Indigenous Relations decision to not consult with First Nations at a time the very future of treaty land, that we all agreed to share, is in question. The Alberta NDP is committed to stand alongside Indigenous people, every day, but especially on days like today where we respectfully acknowledge the ongoing journey toward truth, healing and reconciliation.

Are you telling the truth “Parksy”? Premier Smith announced a brand new, standalone hospital in Edmonton— the first Premier to do this in nearly 40 years.
Was thinking: might be useful for those in Edmonton to go to Calgary EDs for care, given the UCP govt refuses to invest in anymore hospitals in Edmonton area But they’re not building a hospital in Airdrie either, so Calgary hospitals will be overwhelmed too by time this is built

Uhm… the United States 🇺🇸 company the NDP hired to do their crisis comms? Or Sean Amato?
LOL who wrote this? Naheed Nenshi: Called the Premier’s proposed west coast pipeline a “pipe dream. David Eggen: “No new approvals” for oilsands projects. Called the oilsands a “catastrophe.” Joe Ceci: Spoke of a “fossil-free future.” Lorne Dach: Said Alberta should lead the “transition away from fossil fuels.” Gurinder Brar: Said pipelines are “very dangerous.” Brooks Arcand-Paul: Opposed TMX. Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse: Opposed Coastal GasLink and supported anti-TMX protesters. David Shepherd: Said “part of the problem” in Alberta is that one of our biggest businesses is based in oil. Janis Irwin: Advocated for Extinction Rebellion in Alberta classrooms. Marie Renaud: Reacted to an “I Love Oil & Gas” shirt with a puke emoji. Quite the record.

Premier Danielle Smith 👀 👇 "For Ontarians and Quebecers to maybe understand why Albertans are so angry, just think about how angry you are right now that Donald Trump is taking an attack on the economy and trying to shut down key industries. Well, that's what Justin Trudeau did to Alberta for 10 years, with the help of Steven Guilbeault and the federal NDP."

🚨 The NDP are planning to kill tech jobs and rip away paychecks from Alberta families with their upcoming data centre moratoriums. Billions in investment is pouring into Alberta right now…Hundreds of millions of dollars in new annual tax revenue for provincial social programs… Thousands of high paying jobs… Alberta is winning the tech race right now and the NDP would rather we lost it.

FACT CHECK: Ultra False NDP Comms Tsar @JSJamato should delete this and apologize on behalf of his team.
Danielle Smith is actually defending this racist banner? That won’t repair relationships with First Nations or help get major projects built. No wonder Chiefs unanimously voted non-confidence in Smith and the UCP.

Solid fact check ⬇️
FACT CHECK: Nenshi was FORCED by law to run a balanced budget in Calgary. He didn’t like this and BEGGED Rachel Notley to change the rules to let him run deficits. Calgary had the lowest taxes at the START of his time as Mayor. By the end of his reign, he’d TRIPLED taxes.

Naheed Nenshi’s boss, Avi Lewis, is fighting to stop Alberta’s new pipeline to the west coast… Tell that to the union welders and pipefitters who will build it. Tell that to the families whose mortgages it pays. Tell it to the patients in the hospitals this revenue funds. The NDP will never stand up for Albertans.

Lol. The NDP hires a foreign 🇺🇸 USA agency to interfere in Alberta politics. The same firm behind @NYCMayor and @BernieSanders. @nenshi will tell you they stand up for Alberta workers. Their own contracts say otherwise.
There is a very real risk of foreign interference in Danielle Smith’s referendum this fall. I wrote to CSIS earlier this year and just received the reply. I’m happy they’re taking it seriously and I encourage anyone with evidence of foreign interference to contact them. And don’t forget that this is all happening in the context of the massive data breach that the Premier and her government keep waving off, even though we now know that your data was stored and available on websites of super-right Trumpian organizations for months. We need to know how this government is protecting the integrity of this referendum if they are at all.

NDP’s Nenshi and Avi Lewis might want to keep it in the ground, but Albertans won’t let them 💪
Alberta is not going to leave $10 trillion dollars in the ground. Not a chance. The west coast oil pipeline will create hundreds of thousands of jobs, generate hundreds of billions for roads, schools and hospitals, and keep our taxes amongst the lowest in the developed world. Here’s how 👇 Please share this with those who have questions about Alberta’s plan to build the new west coast pipeline.

Meta just announced a $13 billion investment in Alberta that will create thousands of jobs and strengthen our economy. Naheed Nenshi’s response? Attack the project because it’s financed by a large company with wealthy owners (like every other large company). That’s a strange position from someone who accepted an all expenses paid trip to beautiful Bellagio, Italy courtesy of the Rockefeller Foundation— a billionaire laden group that has spent years and endless money trying to shut down Alberta’s energy industry. You cannot make this stuff up...

Alternate reality: Union boss campaigns for union job losses.
Donald Trump wants Alberta oil. AFL president Gil McGowan says that gives Canada powerful leverage, but Danielle Smith is surrendering it before negotiations even begin. #Alberta #Tariffs #AlbertaOil
