For news, lacrosse, football, and everything else Notre Dame now that I'm getting old.

We’re getting more evidence of shady activities happening from the clock operators/officiating crew in Provo by the hour. It’s the final 30 seconds of the game. Your finger better be firmly pressed on the button to stop the clock when someone goes out of bounds. Every second counts. Goodness gracious this is insane.
On Notre Dame’s final drive, there were multiple occasions where the clock ran longer than it was supposed to: • Out of bounds at 0:27, clock goes to 0:26 • Out of bounds at 0:17, clock goes to 0:15 BYU’s clock operator needs to be investigated.

So much of sports in general is just having belief in what you're doing and doing it fast with confidence. Al Golden kept things incredibly simple (tons of Cover 1) and just let his guys ball. Miss that guy.
Go back and watch the first drive of this game and tell me the defense Saturday played with even 25% of the speed and intensity of this squad. In this clip - Ausberry, Bowen, Moore, Gray, Sneed, Shuler…..

"Third-and-5 is typical man coverage ... If you're too soft in zone coverage, there's gonna be an easy completion for a first down." — Marcus Freeman, Oct. 1 Notre Dame played soft zone on third-and-medium at BYU, similar to the first two games of 2025. on3.com/teams/notre-dame-fig…

If this kills @Marcus_Freeman1 … and no doubt it does … then @NDFootball needs to address the situation. It hired an out-of-work failed ex-head coach as defensive coordinator. @CoachRoderick worked Ash silly @usatodaysports: usatoday.com/story/sports/nc…
This has got to kill Marcus Freeman. Saw a bunch of this last year during the first two-and-a-half games of the season. Defense can't get lined up. Felt like the Irish had matured out of this kind of thing.

It's so weird when low IQ people don't understand that these "models" are just really basic win probability stuff and doesn't actually mean anything. Like this "playoff predictor" is just saying "we think ND will win the rest of their games." It's not some conspiracy.
If anyone asks why I hate Notre Dame so much. This is why.

Yeah this is what I mean about ND "didn't deserve to win" ... ND could've gotten it done at the end, sure, but ignore the officiating. They played like total ass for an entire half of football and were fortunate to even be in it.

We need to have a conversation about the coordinators and position coaches. It's not just RB usage, it's thing Logan Thomas being out there in a goal to go situation, not rotating WRs at all, mandatory TE in the field at all times but making them play like a WR, etc
Per Pro Football Focus, snaps played by Notre Dame's running backs versus BYU. Nolan James Jr. – 50 Aneyas Williams – 21 Jonaz Walton – 10

Constant presnap issues on defense with players being confused, playing soft zone and giving up easy yards for no reason when you have a loaded secondary, zero blitz and leave Joey O'Brien on an island on 3rd and goal from the 6, etc.

No screen game, haven't hit a slot fade all year because the film is out on that, Aneyas Williams best trait is being a receiver but we rarely go to him / target him in the short middle of the field

Nebraska kinda cursed :( Like they could rather easily be 7-0 with some big wins and controlling their destiny for the playoffs.

Statement from the Big 12 on the end of the Notre Dame-BYU game.
“It is embarrassing for all officiating quite frankly.” Did BYU-Notre Dame end with 1 second on clock? Our report on why the refs should’ve reviewed whether the Irish had time for another play: nytimes.com/athletic/7700125…

I won’t even be quiet about it no more. When I played in the NFL we all knew officials were rigging games certain ways. It happens at the college ranks. Last year when I put the NFL on blast about it they threatened to pull my pension. Fck em. The world deserves to know.

Big 12 clock operator, Big 12 replay. That's why it happened and also wasn't reviewed. We see this shit every year we leave it close. Don't want to lose in the margins? Play better / coach better.
Every play time keeper is shaving a second off the clock. 3 feet out of bounds with 16 seconds and clock runs to 15 seconds.

Forget the BYU pass interference for a second… how did they NOT review an obvious second left on the clock for Notre Dame????
Did I just see Notre Dame get robbed of a pass interference AND a second on the clock on the same play?

The Florida St offensive holding call was not a foul. The contact by the BYU defender was defensive pass interference.

Absurd to both blow this call and then not look at it. ACC refs / Big 12 replay + clock operator.
Obvious pass interference aside, there’s clearly 1 second left after the ball hits the ground for Notre Dame. Scorebug and every clock in the stadium agrees.
