🌎 The VII Edition of the Inter-American Course on Migration and Protection is officially underway!
Abby Córdova @NDHumRts; @claudiagbengoa, Acting Director of @OAS_Rights; and Ambassador @WendyACVdo, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the OAS @ESMultilateral, representing the MIRPS Pro Tempore Presidency, opened the Course with a shared message: addressing today’s human mobility challenges requires stronger institutions, greater knowledge, and regional cooperation to build inclusive, sustainable, and evidence-based responses.
Guided by the principles of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, the Course promotes institutional strengthening, the protection of human rights, and regional cooperation as key pillars for addressing human mobility challenges across the Americas.
This seventh edition is made possible primarily through the partnership with @NotreDame, under its Memorandum of Understanding with the OAS, with valuable financial support from the governments of Korea 🇰🇷 and Portugal 🇵🇹. We thank them for their commitment to strengthening capacities and regional cooperation on migration and protection.
Two days of learning, dialogue, and exchange across the Americas begin today! 🤝
