Femicide in Iran: When the Law Grants Killers Impunity Instead of Protecting Women
In just a few days in October 2026, several women and girls were murdered in different cities across Iran by the men closest to them—from a 16-year-old child bride to a mother who was shot alongside her 14-year-old daughter.
These crimes are neither isolated incidents nor exceptional cases. They are part of the reality women in Iran face every day: a reality in which the misogynistic laws of the mullahs’ regime, ineffective penalties, and a culture of impunity for perpetrators of violence have created conditions that allow femicide to continue.

Today, Shush, Kermanshah, Isfahan, and cities across Iran once again echoed with the angry voices of Social Security, Steel, and Mining retirees protesting poverty, soaring prices, corruption, denial of healthcare, and the systematic looting of their funds.
Chanting powerful slogans—such as "War and sanctions are excuses; our lives are the target!", "Death to high prices, poverty, war, and destruction!", and "Inflation and price hikes are bullets fired at the people!"—they expressed their outrage against a regime that ensures its survival through warmongering and repression, forcing ordinary citizens to pay the price for its destructive policies.
Solidarity, protest, and uprising are the only path to freedom, justice, and an end to poverty, unemployment, and state corruption.

Iran’s regime is acting like one afraid of the next eruption: 11 people arrested months after #IranProtests and branded part of a foreign “coup,” 44 million screened for extra food aid, and hardliners accusing rival insiders of serving Washington. The fear is that these pressures converge. By @shahriarkia

European Union leaders have strongly condemned the Iranian regime’s “brutal repression” and “widespread executions” and emphasized “the fundamental rights and freedoms of the Iranian people, including the right to self-determination and to choose their own future.”
This necessary and welcome stance must be backed by concrete measures against the regime of executions and terror, alongside recognition of the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and a democratic republic.
The regime’s embassies and official and unofficial missions in Europe must be shut down, and its mercenaries and agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) must be expelled

For nearly half a century, the main target of this regime’s executions has been the Iranian Resistance.
Yet, standing against this regime, the National Council of Resistance of Iran holds high the banner for the abolition of the death penalty in tomorrow’s free Iran.
