you deserve a good life even if you never change the world. even if your story never inspires a single stranger. even if your greatest accomplishment is making it through the day. your humanity is not something you have to earn by being exceptional.

We underestimate how much human potential gets crushed by the struggle to survive. Somewhere, there’s a genius working double shifts who hasn’t had the energy to create anything in months because they’re too fucking exhausted just trying to stay afloat.

People who commit suicide are literally not in their right state of mind. To call it "selfish" has always irked me, since we're talking about an impaired mental state so severe it has to overcome survival instinct.
My best friend jumped off a bridge 15 years ago, to her death. She left three young girls. I will never understand, nor will I ever accept it. Committing suicide is the peek act of selfishness. She might be at peace. But no one who loved her will never rest until they’re dead too. Don’t do it. Just don’t.

Someone said "most children are born as social obligations/retirement plans, not really human entities born to experience living" Then there's adults who never move on from that designation - so they become everyone's problem. Then rinse and repeat with their children.

“Failing college programs” and one of them is social work. SOCIAL WORK. You know, the people that help neglected and abused children, mentally ill people, disabled people, domestic violence victims, and more.
This is fake news at its finest.    First off, we’re not ‘banning’ any program. The federal government doesn’t set curriculum or programs.    Here’s the truth: we are holding colleges accountable for leaving students worse off than if they never enrolled. Too many graduates report delaying major life milestones like buying a home or starting a family. Why? Because low return-on-investment programs saddled them with unmanageable debt that was never going to translate into a real-world job.    Federal student loans are not a welfare program for failing college programs. American students deserve education and training pathways that prepare them for the workforce – and transparency about programs that will never pay off.

The only time many of you have mentioned "TARABA" was when you're reciting your estate and Capital. If you've ever sipped a cup of Nigerian-grown tea, bought kilishi from a mallam or enjoyed a smoky plate of pepper soup with beef so tender it fell off the bone, there's a very high chance it traces back to this land. Taraba is home to Chappal Waddi, the highest mountain peak in Nigeria, Taraba has over 80 different languages due to different ethnic groups in the state. It is the 3rd largest state in Nigeria by land mass. Taraba is blessed with something farmers can’t manufacture - Land, Water and a remarkably diverse Climate. • Taraba is the only state in Nigeria where they grow every crop in the country. There's no crop you find anywhere in Nigeria that's not growing in Taraba. • Gembu town in Taraba is the coldest place in Nigeria, reason why Taraba climate grows Apples and other cold weather dependent vegetables • Taraba is home to one of Nigeria’s most important tea-growing areas. The cool highlands of Mambilla provide the perfect environment for tea cultivation. Taraba Highland tea is the best tea in West Africa and 2nd best in Africa. • The state is also known for coffee production, particularly around the Mambilla Plateau, where the high altitude and cool climate create favourable conditions for coffee farming. • Taraba has 10 major rivers and their tributaries provide water that supports fishing, irrigation and farming. • Taraba’s fertile plains are major producers of rice, maize, yam, cassava and other food crops, feeding markets within the state and beyond. • One of the biggest Crocodile 🐊 farm is in Wukari in Taraba state Taraba is estimated to hold around 5 million cattle, making it 3rd largest largest livestock-producing states in Nigeria, alongside millions of goats, sheep, and pigs. Because of this, fura da nunu (fermented milk and millet) and kilishi (sun-dried spiced beef) from Taraba's herds end up feeding tables far beyond the state's borders. • Taraba is one of those places where you can move from tropical lowlands to cool mountain terrain without leaving the state. Chappal Waddi is the highest peak in West Africa. And then there is the food in Taraba state!!!. From pounded yam and tuwo to locally produced rice, vegetables, fresh fish and traditional dishes prepared with ingredients grown right there, Taraba’s agriculture is deeply connected to its food culture. The state is also home to diverse peoples and cultures, including the Jukun, Mambilla, Kuteb, Chamba, Tiv and many others. There's no way we discuss Agriculture in Nigeria and Taraba name won't be mentioned. Shout out to Taraba farmers may the nature continue to bless y'all. I will forever stan social workers. They are absolutely wonderful people and it is an absolutely essential role for the health system. As a physician, I almost cried the day I discovered social workers and learned what support & expertise they provided to us and our patients.
yall don’t understand the importance of a social worker until you need one. they advocate for you all without yall even noticing, yet nobody appreciates them. it’s frustrating

I watched President @JDMahama’s comments about the US Health Sovereignty proposal with some stomach churning annoyance. Kudos to the Government for rejecting it. But if I know anything about the US; they won’t stop pushing this deal or some other camouflaged version of it. If this Government doesn’t sign it, they will target the next. If one political party says no, they will wait for the next. If this country to country deal doesn’t work, they will come back as health solutions company offering services that some minister will single handedly contract out under some sole sourcing arrangement. Or they will convince us that we need some US Government controlled AI software will revolutionalise Health care solutions. I would propose that we actually pass legislation that expressly forbids Ghana from sharing critical health data with foreign countries or companies. But one legislation can be amended by the next. I’m torn! Empire lays traps for us all around! Yet, our politicians cannot be trusted to hold the fort long term. How sad. Shalom

Jamaica has welcomed 43 nurses from Ghana as part of the health partnership between both countries. The nurses have expertise in areas such as emergency care, critical care, paediatrics, oncology, mental health and midwifery. They will be placed in public hospitals across Jamaica, including hospitals in the Western and South East regions and the University Hospital of the West Indies. The four-year agreement allows for up to 400 healthcare professionals from Ghana to support Jamaica’s health system. The partnership will also allow Jamaican and Ghanaian healthcare professionals to share knowledge and strengthen areas such as primary healthcare, health insurance and the management of chronic diseases.

"We flagged several things...and then it also said we should give our medical records. I mean, who takes another country's medical records? That was strange. And so...it was humiliating. I've never seen anything thrown out as fast as that. And so of course we rejected it."
Why Ghana flagged and declined to sign the new USA Health Compact Agreement. President Mahama disclosed that Ghana flagged several issues in a health compact proposed by the U.S. as a replacement for USAID funding. JDM explains 👇🏽
