My #hamradio station in 2001. Rig was Icom IC-746 at 100W into a Cuschcraft R5. Kent TP-1 CW paddle. Most of my DX contacts were on 20 meter CW. Fun times! #amateurradio

This eruption opened up the Sun like a zipper! Between the big flare from Region 4100 and the entangled filament launch that slithered like a dark snake above the region and curving southwest, the sheer length of this #solarstorm launch is as wide as the Sun itself. Along with the previous solar storm eruption from an M-flare earlier today, we have likely TWO, if not three structures headed towards Earth.

I just renewed my license last month so I guess I’m good for the next 10 years.
The FCC has just approved new license fees for Amateur Radio. According to the FCC Report and Order released December 29, 2020, Amateur Radio license fees will now cost $35 for new licenses, renewals, vanity & all modifications.
