Citing a senior US official, the report said the administration is encouraging the formation of a broad-based Israeli government that excludes far-right parties. One option under consideration is a coalition between Netanyahu’s Likud party and Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party. Under the proposed arrangement, Netanyahu would seek to end the ongoing wars and secure agreements with regional countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, before stepping down within two years. Eisenkot’s party is expected to demand binding guarantees that Netanyahu will leave politics within the agreed timeframe as a condition for joining the coalition. The proposal has not been finalized. The Israeli Presidential Office has also denied reports that President Isaac Herzog is involved in the negotiations.
