PRIDE COMES BEFORE A FALL. There is something about fast money that seems to come with an overdose of confidence, even a feeling of immortality. The tenders arrive, the toys get bigger, the choppers appear. Then suddenly, one starts behaving as though ordinary rules of life apply to everyone else. Flaunting wealth before struggling people, mocking those on the ground and treating caution like a disease.

A comprehensive picture is slowly but surely building to explain what happened prior, during and after the helicopter crash that killed prominent businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife, her assistant or security and two pilots near Marondera yesterday. One of Chivayoโ€™s security guards Froster Chisi explains ro ZBC what happened prior to the crash.

I have learnt with great sadness of the tragic death of Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke, and the other people who lost their lives in the helicopter crash in Marondera. Wicknell and I occupied very different spaces in our country's public life. I disagreed strongly with his politics and was publicly critical of aspects of his brand of philanthropy, the flaunting of extraordinary wealth in the midst of widespread poverty, and the unanswered questions surrounding the sources of some of that wealth and its relationship with public contracts and political patronage. Those differences were real, and death does not require us to pretend otherwise. But neither should political disagreement deprive us of our humanity. Behind every public personality is a family. Today there are children, relatives, friends and colleagues confronting the sudden loss of people they loved. Lucy's family is mourning too, as are the families of the other people who perished in this terrible accident. There will be another time for Zimbabwe to continue the important national conversations about wealth, public accountability, philanthropy, patronage and the relationship between business and political power. This morning belongs to the bereaved. I extend my sincere condolences to the Chivayo and Muteke families and to the families of all those who lost their lives. May they find strength and comfort during this profoundly difficult time. May the souls of all those who perished rest in eternal peace.

Panokanya ma face edu e opposition they are good at donating people and ZANU PF end up taking advantage. Politics is about numbers but I believe the majority of the toxic accounts that insult, label and condemn people that support the opposition are infact agents of ZANU and the trick is working for ZANU PF. Thomas Mapfumo is a musician who has fought oppression on the side of the toiling masses from pre independence to post independence he has been in exile for most of his adult life. Now that he has been offered a Gig which will earn him $1Million makumutuka! I used to fight with my senior leaders in the National Standing Committee during our MDC and CCC days discouraging them from Representing ZANU affiliated businesses but they will always cite the Cab Rank Rule so zvasiyanei nekuti Ndezve basa ?

I am attending the UKโ€“Zimbabwe Business Expo 2026 in Birmingham and look forward to engaging with fellow Zimbabweans in the UKโ€”particularly those looking for practical ways to invest, return home and participate in Zimbabweโ€™s economic growth. I will be showcasing three initiatives: 1. Rural X โ€” Taking Investment Back Home I have endowed Rural X with assets worth US$5 million to support Zimbabweans in the Diaspora and those returning home to establish sustainable businesses in their rural communities. Rural X is not simply a lender. We intend to invest as a venture capital partner, provide capital and support to promising rural enterprises, and exit our investment once those businesses are strong and sustainable. Qualifying businesses will also be able to access loan funding from TN CyberTech Bank, subject to the Bankโ€™s normal lending criteria. The idea is simple: turn remittances and returning skills into productive rural enterprises, jobs and wealth. 2. Nova City โ€” Fractional Ownership of Premium Real Estate We will also introduce Nova City, a proposed high-end development on Lot 7 of Calgary Farm. The project is intended to allow investors to participate through tokens representing fractional interests in the underlying real estate, subject to the applicable legal and regulatory framework. We have already demonstrated the potential of tokenisation through our Fairview project in Ruwa, which is sold out. Nova City takes the concept to another level and is intended to create an accessible real-estate investment opportunity, including for Zimbabweans in the Diaspora. 3. Beef Tokens โ€” Investing in Zimbabweโ€™s Livestock Economy We have now launched our Beef Tokens. For now, they are being issued as non-digital investment instruments while we develop Diaspora X, our proposed digital asset exchange. Once the technology is ready, we intend to seek the necessary regulatory approvals and licensing for Diaspora X. In Birmingham, we will explain how the current Beef Tokens work, how they can be acquired and transferred, and how we intend to transition them onto Diaspora X once the appropriate regulatory framework and licences are in place. These three initiatives have one common objective: To move the Diaspora conversation from remittances to investment. Zimbabweans abroad should not only be sending money home. They should have opportunities to own, invest, build businesses and participate in the creation of wealth back home. I look forward to seeing you in Birmingham.

_Live @ New Parliament Building, MountHampden_ Remarks by His Excellency President Dr ED Mnangagwa: Continued attention is being given to the development of the railway sector, including the acquisition of new wagons. Zimbabwe and Zambia have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a railway link between the two countries. The Government continues to roll out the Presidential Title Deeds Programme, aimed at formalising property ownership for citizens. The country is also making use of the skills and expertise of returning citizens from South Africa. Meanwhile, the development of a framework for small and medium-sized enterprises is underway, with the aim of coordinating business development initiatives and accelerating access to financing. The Government is also continuing to engage citizens and incorporate their views into public-sector programmes and policies. __________

_Live @ New Parliament Building, MountHampden_ Remarks by His Excellency President Dr ED Mnangagwa: Remarkable improvements in the energy sector are now evident, with frequent load shedding becoming a thing of the past. Fuel supplies have also remained stable. In the transport sector, the country has intensified road rehabilitation efforts, particularly along the Nyamapanda, Chirundu, and Bulawayo highways, to facilitate smoother and more efficient movement. In addition, two more airlines are expected to commence operations in Zimbabwe in 2027. __________

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ #SoulShackRadio SPORTS DESK โœ๐Ÿฝ BY KING JAY ZIMBABWE ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ v DR CONGO ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฉโ€จAFCON 2027 QUALIFIERS | GROUP E, MATCHDAY 2โ€จNational Sports Stadium, Harareโ€จMonday 28 September 2026โ€จ18:00 CAT. THE WARRIORS ARE BACK HOME! ๐Ÿ”ฅ After that mad comeback against Sierra Leone, the Warriors return tomorrow for what, on paper, is a completely different ball game. Excuse the pun. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Zimbabwe went 2โ€“0 down against Sierra Leone in Morocco before Marshall Munetsi decided he wasn't having any of it. His brace, either side of Tawanda Chirewa's equaliser, completed a remarkable 3โ€“2 comeback and put the Warriors second in Group E on goal difference, level on three points with DR Congo. But tomorrow we face the Leopards. And these boys are serious business. DR Congo come into this one fresh from a 2โ€“0 victory over Equatorial Guinea and they are carrying some serious World Cup pedigree. They qualified for the 2026 World Cup after beating Jamaica 1โ€“0 after extra time in the intercontinental playoff, ending a 52-year wait for a place at football's biggest party. And they didn't go to the World Cup just to make up the numbers. They drew 1โ€“1 with Portugal, lost narrowly 1โ€“0 to Colombia, then beat Uzbekistan 3โ€“1 to reach the knockout stages. They eventually lost 2โ€“1 to England in the Round of 32. That squad has players who have been operating at a serious level, including Yoane Wissa, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Chancel Mbemba and Axel Tuanzebe. These are World Cup players. No room for holiday football tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And this is where I have a little concern about our Warriors. Against Sierra Leone, that first half was worrying. We looked all over the place defensively and conceded twice. Elvis Chipezeze, to put it mildly, didn't exactly cover himself in glory on those goals. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Even The Herald @HeraldZimbabwe described both goals as soft and Chipezeze as culpable. Thankfully, the second half was a completely different Zimbabwe. But we cannot keep giving good teams a two-goal head start and expect Marshall Munetsi to come riding to the rescue every time. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Against this DRC side, that could be a very dangerous game to play. Our defence needs to be switched on from the first whistle. No sleeping, hazvidi hopรฉ , no bvundaring. no gifting chances. Then there is Marvelous Nakamba. @Nakamba_11 I'll be honest, I had my doubts when I saw his name in the starting XI against Sierra Leone. My doubts go back to that painful AFCON 2025 night against South Africa when, with Zimbabwe having fought back to 2โ€“2, Nakamba was penalised for a handball after a VAR review. Appollis converted the resulting penalty and we lost 3โ€“2. So yes, I was watching him closely against Sierra Leone. And I'll give the man his flowers. Nakamba had a decent game. The ball distribution was vintage Nakamba at times and, in my books, he partially redeemed himself. Now I want consistency. Because against a DRC midfield packed with quality, we are going to need the experienced Nakamba, not the Nakamba who gives us an Arsenal-induced blood pressure moment. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The Warriors have already shown that they can fight back. They've shown character. They've shown that they can score goals. Now I want to see discipline. If we concede early again and start chasing the game against a side containing World Cup-level players, we could find ourselves in serious trouble. Personally, I'm treating this game with a LOT of caution. Three points would be massive. But if the Warriors grind out a draw against this DRC side, I'll take that result, thank you very much. ๐Ÿ˜‚ After five years of playing our "home" games away from home, tomorrow the Warriors finally walk out at the National Sports Stadium in Harare. ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ Home soil, home crowd. @online_zifa ,one thing Iโ€™d like to suggest. Can ZIFA allow free entry to the โ€œVietnamโ€ side of the stadium and heavily discounted tickets for the rest of the ground ? Letโ€™s have some noise ! Now let's see what you've got, Warriors. COME ON ZIMBABWE! โ€จ#AFCON27

Tomorrow night, when the Warriors walk through that tunnel and onto the pitch, they will not just be entering a stadium. They will be walking back into history. And when the national anthem is sung beneath the lights of the NSS once again, it will be a declaration. Zimbabwean football is home. Poverty is a personal mindset. Living in squalid environments is a personal choice.
The problem with religion in one innocent photo. In accordance with Scripture, they have gathered to wash one anotherโ€™s feet as part of the Communion service. They seek, through acts of religious piety to commend themselves to God, yet pay no attention to the surroundings they have been required by the same God to take care of. They do not confront those responsible for the crumbling classroom in which their service is being held and their piety demonstrated. To them washing feet is more important than sprucing the classroom up, or having a decent one for that matter. In fact, while gathered in that dilapidated room, they will teach that God commands unquestioning respect for authority, the same authority that lets their children pursue education in such a sorry environment. Beyond the dilapidated classroom, they have no church building of their own. No, church people; true religion demands that we pursue both, attention to precept as well as a just social order.
