Matt Smith, CEO of Gutterglove, expected the trade-off most people expect. Hire across the world, in a different culture, and you accept some cost to how the team works. What he found was the opposite. The roles he was filling were mostly entry-level. And what he kept running into hiring for them here were people who didn’t really want the job. Not bad people. Just not invested in what the company was building. His words on the MyOutDesk hires: every single team member added was "a plus one in our culture". That’s the part that doesn’t show up in a cost comparison. The work gets done, but the people doing it actually want to be doing it, which is why six years later they’re still there.

MyOutDesk was named one of the Sacramento Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies. We didn’t grow on our own. Two groups made this happen. Our clients. Business owners and leaders who saw that great talent isn’t limited to one zip code, and trusted us to help them build their teams. Our virtual professionals. Thousands of people across the Philippines, Latin America, and Africa who choose to do their best work with MyOutDesk, every day, for companies on the other side of the world. Thank you to both. This award belongs to you. #Sacramento #FastestGrowingCompanies #RemoteWork #GlobalTalent

What is a meat proxy? Pretty sure you’ve encountered one already. It’s that person who built a report in record time, but the context is slightly off. The person who sends three paragraphs in response to a simple question. The one whose answers sound confident until you ask a follow-up. That’s your meat proxy: someone who prompts AI and passes the output straight to you, unread and unedited. If that’s what your employees are doing, it’s time to rethink your staffing strategy, because you can prompt the model yourself. What you need is human judgment combined with AI. That’s the standard we hire and train to. MyOutDesk provides full-time remote professionals who use AI well, integrate into your team, and own the work. It starts with our recruiting process. We select the top 1% of applicants, verify their skills, and put them through MOD University, our own training program, where they build the modern skills for their role plus dedicated AI training so they know where the tool helps and where it doesn’t. Plenty of staffing companies hand you a person and hope it works out. We only place people we’d hire ourselves. #virtualassistants #BusinessLeverage #VirtualAssistants #virtualassistantservices #MyOutDesk #HireHelp #meatproxy

45% of home sellers offered buyers a concession in August. October is when it tends to peak. Redfin calls it prime dealmaking season: summer listings that haven't sold start cutting prices and getting flexible. For real estate agents, that means more work on every deal: price reductions to update, concessions and rate buydowns to negotiate and paper, and buyers who want three conversations before they write an offer. The agents who win in the coming months will be the ones who never let a lead go cold. That's the work a MyOutDesk real estate virtual professional takes off your plate: 📞 An ISA who follows up on every inquiry and sets the appointment. 📄 A transaction coordinator who tracks every deadline and addendum from contract to close. ✨ A marketing assistant who keeps your listings, emails, and socials current while prices move. Dedicated to your team and working inside your CRM. It's how most of the Top 10 real estate firms already run. Book a strategy call, and we'll map out which role frees you up first. myoutdesk.com/signup/?utm_so…

Friday night in downtown Sacramento. A ring under the lights, the skyline behind it, and a crowd on its feet. Our team spent last Friday at Sutter Club Fight Night, cheering on rising amateur boxers from Community Youth Center's boxing program as they stepped into fully sanctioned matches. Every one of them put in the work to earn that walk to the ring. We were glad to be in the crowd for it. Good fights, a good cause, and good people. Thank you to Community Youth Center and the Sutter Club for an incredible night.

Your business can only scale as fast as the things only *you* can do. Everything else that sits still on your plate isn't protecting the business. It's capping it. A virtual professional takes on the tasks that don't need your judgment, so growth stops being limited by your time. Book a free strategy session, and we'll look at what's actually capping yours. myoutdesk.com/signup/?utm_so…

Nobody decided that your best people should spend their week on low-impact work. It happened the way these things always happen. A role sat in approval for months and then got cut. A search came back with four wrong candidates and a week of wasted recruiting time. Someone quit but the work didn't, so the team absorbed it. Your most expensive people are doing your cheapest tasks, permanently, with no line item anywhere showing what it costs. The damage shows up late. Work gets turned down because nobody can absorb it. Your leaders stop leading and start clearing a queue. And the person you want to keep is quietly updating their resume, because the job turned out to be entry-level work with their credentials attached. There's a version of this where that work goes to someone who's genuinely good at it and glad to be doing it, and your people go back to what you hired them for. That's what MyOutDesk is all about. We handle the recruiting, vetting, background checks, payroll, and benefits. You get ready-to-go remote professionals dedicated to you, working in your systems and on your hours, without the hiring headaches or the overhead. Growth doesn't break a company evenly. It breaks whatever was already carrying the most weight. The useful part is that the breakage is legible if you know where to look. Admin time creeping up on a rep's week is a signal. One-on-ones that have quietly turned into coffee chats is a signal. Reps who are somehow drowning and starving at the same time is a signal. Daniel Ramsey, our founder and CEO, wrote an article in Forbes Business Council, discussing the five pillars he runs a sales organization on, plus the five questions he asks to find the one that's buckling. Check out the full article in the link in comments.

High-quality customer service at scale is the hardest thing to staff for in hospitality. Every missed call is a prospective client who just phoned the firm down the street. The new-client call that came in at 4:50 PM. The intake form sitting half-finished while the lead goes cold. That work decides how much business a firm actually keeps, and none of it belongs on an attorney's plate. A MyOutDesk legal intake specialist owns it instead. They answer every new-client call, screen against the criteria your firm sets, and work inside your practice management system so nothing stalls between the first call and the first meeting. Dedicated to you full time, never shared with another client, so they operate like an integral part of your organization. Flatten the org and the coordinating doesn't disappear. It lands on the leader you just handed a bigger team. The Wall Street Journal reported that companies like Uber are cutting the manager layer between teams, so the people left are building and selling instead of coordinating across departments. Fair ask. But the scheduling, the follow-up, the vendor chasing, and the report nobody else knows how to rebuild all still have to happen. Almost none of it has to happen in your building. It can sit with someone working full-time in your systems, at up to 70% less than the fully loaded cost of an equivalent in-house hire. The layer was the thing you cut. The work is still yours to place.

Most outsourcing horror stories start in month three. That's when the vendor who made the match stops answering. The person is still there, the problems are still there, and the relationship is suddenly yours to manage on your own. It's an incentive problem. Most virtual assistant and outsourcing companies get paid on the placement, so nobody's compensated for whether it's still working in month nine. Remote teams that last aren't the ones who got lucky on talent. They're the ones with something behind them: clear expectations set before day one, and someone watching closely enough to catch a problem while it's still a problem. 93% of our clients are still with us next year. Retention is the one number a vendor can't fake. Learn how to build successful remote teams in our free guide: myoutdesk.com/blog/the-outso…

Happy Labor Day 🇺🇸! Today's for sleeping in, firing up the grill, and doing exactly zero of the things on your to-do list. It's also a good excuse to say thanks, to everyone who shows up and does the work, even the parts nobody claps for. You earned a day of doing absolutely nothing productive. Enjoy it. See you Tuesday.

Gartner predicts more than 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027 — citing escalating costs, unclear business value, and inadequate risk controls. Meanwhile, the work that AI genuinely can't absorb hasn't gone anywhere. Judgment calls. Exceptions. The client who needs a real answer from a real person. Follow-up that requires knowing which follow-up matters. That work still needs people. It just doesn't need to cost what it costs today. A MyOutDesk virtual professional gives you capacity without the hiring cycle, overhead, or six-month ramp. Just experienced professionals who can own the work that's slowing you down. If you're planning your 2027 budget, we're running free strategy calls to help you gain more leverage in your business with global talent. myoutdesk.com/signup/?utm_so… #AgenticAI #FutureOfWork #BusinessLeverage #2027Budget

Helping isn't a program here. It's the whole point. Everything MyOutDesk does starts from the same place: someone needs help, and we show up. That's true for the clients we serve every day. It's also how MOD Movement began. Back in 2013, Whitney and Daniel Ramsey brought food to the children and elders at Boystown Orphanage in Manila. One day. One meal. No plan beyond that. That day turned into a nonprofit. MOD Movement is our 501(c)(3) that we run alongside our clients. Together we work to uplift underprivileged communities, reduce poverty, expand athletic and educational opportunities for kids, and invest in housing initiatives here at home and around the world, from orphanage renovations to feeding programs. Here's what makes it work: → 100% of every dollar goes to the cause. MyOutDesk covers all overhead. → We match every dollar. Your gift doubles before it ever leaves the building. Since 2013, more than 2,500 individual donations have moved hundreds of thousands of dollars into communities that needed it. Some gifts were significant. Some were $25. All of them mattered, and all of them got matched. We were also recently honored with the Sacramento Business Journal's Corporate Citizenship Award, which recognizes the most generous companies in the region. That award doesn't belong to us alone. It belongs to every client who said yes. A HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing clients who support our mission of making the world a better place. Want to be part of the Movement? Companies are starting to ration AI. Not because it stopped working. Because the bill keeps growing. As AI becomes a real line item, the advantage isn't going to the companies that use the most AI. It's going to the companies that get the most output from every dollar they spend on it. And that changes how you hire. A virtual assistant used to be someone you handed a task list to. In 2026, the role is becoming something different: a workflow operator. One trained professional who knows how to use AI can handle scheduling, drafting, follow-up, research, and process coordination that once required multiple people. AI handles the repetition. People own the judgment, exceptions, relationships, and moments when a client needs a real answer. That's why AI shouldn't be viewed as a replacement for virtual assistants. It makes a great one significantly more valuable. At MyOutDesk, every professional completes MOD University before placement, including coursework and exams covering the tools, AI, workflows, and communication standards we expect them to master. The future isn't AI vs. people. It's people who know how to work with AI vs. people who don't. Check out our latest article where we break down what this means for virtual assistants, hiring, and the future of work: myoutdesk.com/blog/ai-wont-r… #virtualassistants #virtualassistantservices #virtualassistantlife #FutureOfWork

Don Keeley went from finding holes in his schedule the night before to being booked two weeks out. "We're pretty much scheduled out almost two weeks now. Before, it was the next day and I'd be like, 'Why do we have a hole in the schedule?' I'm not seeing that anymore." Don runs Fitness Machine Technicians of Eastern Wisconsin. He brought on a MyOutDesk Administrative Assistant to take over calendar and appointment management, and the schedule stopped being something he chased between service calls. A calendar only works if someone is actually owning it. Not squeezing it in at the end of the day. That's the difference we make for business leaders. You get a vetted remote professional who takes real work off your plate, so you can spend your time on the things only you can do. No added overhead, no hiring process you don't have time to run. Join Don and the thousands of business leaders already growing with MyOutDesk. Book a free strategy session: myoutdesk.com/signup/?utm_so…
