Shuka Sho winner Monroe Walk is being hailed in Japan as “the modern-day Fine Motion”! Fans have been pointing out the many similarities between Fine Motion and Monroe Walk. Both won their debuts in front-running fashion, then took an eight-month break before recording back-to-back victories at racecourses in Hokkaido, Japan. They also both won the Rose Stakes before going on to capture the Shuka Sho undefeated in their fifth career start. Interestingly, despite running over different distances, both won the Rose Stakes by three lengths. Even more remarkably, they recorded identical final 3F times of 34.5 seconds in the Shuka Sho, despite running in the same position during the race. Their winning times were also outstanding: Fine Motion equaled the race record at the time, while Monroe Walk equaled the course record. We can't wait to see what Monroe Walk achieves next!
