In order to believe that this is a natural process you have to believe that a country like Ireland that invests more in education than most other countries in the world, where most people go to college, is somehow unable to find qualified people for jobs. You also have to believe that the young people who are leaving are just looking for a bit of fun, not for structural reasons that have been brought about. The reason all this is happening is because under economic liberalisation and subsequent debt slavery post Great Financial Crisis, Ireland has been turned into a debt servicing agency and FDI plantation where the crop that is farmed is migrants. Our society is now a monopoly game for foreign capital, gombeen men and bourgeois socialists within the institutions of the State and civil society. The money that is pushed through the economy by FDI is harnessed by institutional insiders in many forms to enrich themselves and has produced obscene waste. The obscene salaries and entitlements of civil servants and TDs is one outcome of this. One recent example is the grant to young people to attend cultural events which will flow to the Arts Council and its cronies, a wealth extraction scheme and social engineering operation in one. Migrants are favoured in the structures of the State through human rights, housing lists and plum jobs in the State sector which is where social mobility has always been greatest in Ireland. Get a State job in Ireland and you are insulated from the economic uncertainty that a self-employed worker endures. Migrants are used to artificially pump housing prices and to provide occupants for otherwise unnecessary apartment buildings owned by foreign investment funds. Migrants make up the population growth of modern Ireland. They are imported and given social housing and our own young people are told to suck it up so that RTÉ Boomers can feel smug and comfortable in their bungalows. The human rights of migrants are used to justify political censorship and the silencing of resistance to this form of economic imperialism where capital and the bourgeois managerial state collaborate to game our society for their own ends. The definition of imperialism according to John Hobson is based on a corrupt relationship between the State and financial capital. That perfectly describes the economic paradigm of the modern West, especially Ireland. The children of the insiders in this process get to attend private schools and enjoy unrivalled connections. Most of the top political parties in Ireland are led by people from this sort of background. Your children get the plane to Melbourne and Perth while clownish buffoons born into privilege make inane statements about fighting racism whilst using public money to buy housing for Africans through approved housing bodies.
