📢 ‼️ On 18th Jan, the French Senate voted to forbid all religious headscarves for Muslim women in all sports and competitions. This law underlines the cruelty and exclusion Muslim women face every day in French Society. Get involved in our latest campaign #LetUsPlay ✊🏽‼️ (1/3)

Thank you to Seeing is Believing for supporting Dream Like Me: South Asian Football Trailblazers at the LCFC in the Community event 🤝. Trailblazer @zuleikhachikh features in the book & it was brilliant to have her share learnings & insights with all attendees. ✨️⚽️

We all deserve to be our full selves while playing the sport we love. Join me in supporting Diaba — and all French Muslim women in sports who wear hijab — by calling on @ffbasketball & @FIBA to overturn their discriminatory ban. #BasketPourToutes change.org/basketforall
A photo of French basketball player Diaba Konaté with a quote from her that reads, “I love basketball, my family, and my faith. It would break my heart to give up any one of those, and yet that is what the current French Federation of Basketball guidelines are forcing me to do.”

Diaba Konaté loves France. But a hijab ruling stops her playing there

The point guard is a talented prospect. But the French Federation of Basketball’s ban on religious headwear means she cannot play in her hometown of Paris

It wouldn't be a women's sport event without her. Delighted to announce @ranahuss as a panel speaker for the #WISB23 this Friday. As one of the few women of colour in sports admin & media, Rana's journey has been marked by breaking barriers & championing social inclusion.

Nouhaila Benzina starts for Morocco against France. The first hijab wearing player at the competition in history. Friendly reminder that the FFF and France have banned those who wear a hijab from playing in France.

In 2012, @FIFAcom authorized Muslim sportswomen to play with their hijab. It took 11 years to applaud the first one from @EnMaroc who will meet @equipedefranceF in the 8th round. Go🇫🇷 !! You are the perfect adversary 👇

Wild story: In San Francisco, I was re-routed through Singapore to Melbourne. By coincidence my daughter's team was playing a there tonight. I had 5 hours. I got to the stadium, watched the match, and am now on my way. God is a better travel agent than you or me. Alhumdullilah.
