South Plains College will commemorate the 50th anniversary of its Creative Arts Department with a vibrant three-day celebration from October 30 to November 1 on the Levelland campus. The event is free and open to the public, taking place in the Creative Arts Building and on the main outdoor stage south of the SPC Texan Track. Festivities include daytime breakout sessions that explore the department's rich history and accomplishments, as well as evening concerts featuring performances by current students and alumni. On October 31, the college will also partner with Levelland Main Street and the Noon Lions Club to host a Halloween-themed Trunk or Treat event for families. The celebration wraps up on November 1 with an all-day lineup of performances showcasing the wide-ranging talent cultivated at SPC. Ensembles like Country Caravan, Thursday Nite Live, Western Swing, and the Praise Ensemble will be joined by student musicians in genres ranging from jazz and bluegrass to electronic music. Guests can enjoy local food trucks and shop at the Alumni Market, where former students and community vendors will showcase their crafts and merchandise. The weekend promises to be a joyful reunion and showcase of five decades of creativity, collaboration, and musical excellence. Live Sound at South Plains College @SouthPlains
