In the mid-1980s, Michael Jackson began to develop vitiligo, a condition that causes the loss of melanin and the appearance of progressively lighter patches on the skin.
Over time, the patches became more extensive and visible, while the press constantly speculated about the changes in his appearance.
Jackson publicly explained his condition during his famous interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1993. To even out the tone of the affected areas, he used makeup, and when the depigmentation became extensive, he turned to medical treatments designed to even out his skin tone. Complete depigmentation can be used in cases of very widespread vitiligo, although it is a permanent process.
For years, vitiligo was one of the most misunderstood aspects of his physical transformation. Paradoxically, his case ended up becoming one of the best-known stories associated with this condition.
This is why Michael Jackson is the greatest of all time & the undisputed King of Pop. His performances fill the air with a raw energy that can be felt by everyone... πΊπ€

When Michael Jackson took out βDirty Dianaβ of the setlist out of respect for her, Princess Diana asked if he was going to perform it. He didnβt know it was one of her favourite songs.

Footage from behind the scenes of the making of βSmooth Criminal.β
Michael laughing his ass off at Brandon Adams imitating him is my favorite part ππ
38 years ago today, MTV premiered Michael Jacksonβs βSmooth Criminalβ short film. White suit, fedora, 1930s club and that anti gravity lean that still looks like pure magic. Directed by Colin Chilvers and built as the centerpiece of MJβs Moonwalker anthology it pays homage to The Band Wagon starring Fred Astaire, while giving the world one of MJβs most quintessential visual moments.
Thirty Eight years later, Annieβs still not okay and neither is anyone who tries to recreate that lean without the proper gear.
