My absolute favourite discovery this week is that Boulez inspired the song ‘You can call me Al’ by repeatedly getting Paul Simon and his wife’s name wrong at a party.

Is anybody able to send me a pdf of Music and Letters vol. 84 no.2 (may 2003), pp 242-257 (article about the english musical renaissance) please? I don’t have access to JSTOR.
I’ve just come across a promotional CD from Boosey and Hawkes, 2017: Contemporary Choral series. 73 tracks, with 1 (one) by a woman! To be fair, there were only 29 composers represented….

Hi everyone - my MIL is succumbing to dementia and I want to find a book that she has been talking about. It’s an Arabic children’s book about ‘a mouse in the house of Mafeed’ (from which she learnt some Arabic while living abroad). Any ideas how I might find it? TIA….
Fabulous cantatas from Strozzi, Leonarda and de la Guerre, plus new music from Rhiannon Randeal and Zhenyan Li - big up the female composers! Tonight, Richmond - do come and share the wisdom! #newmusic #baroque #theorbo @DMcGonigal @suzyrobSoprano @toby_carr

Just got off @megabusuk in Aberdeen and someone left with my suitcase. All of my concert clothes and things for tomorrow morning's @soundscotland show are in there.
Anyone have a spare concert outfit and shoes? Feeling a bit distraught.
