Howard Kendall was so much associated with Everton it was a surprise for me to discover he played for another team - and in the FA Cup Final too. From "The Top Teams of 1964", a booklet given away with Rover & Wizard.
Well said @mikegalsworthy As a journo with 40+ years' experience, I wonder what's going on at our "national broadcaster". If I can't trust it with things I know a bit about, how can I trust it with anything else? See my recent column re BBC & Harrods: bit.ly/4f7SWLD
This is incredibly cringe.
@BBCNewsnight & @BBCNews don’t even know what news is anymore.
It has now become a public disservice. No wonder people are flocking to alternative media & social media for actual analysis of things that matter in this increasingly precarious world.
Photo taken this morning at 09.50. Berwick railway station clock a good five minutes fast @soult But at least it works! – at Berwick-upon-Tweed, England
No photos do this place justice. It is astonishing. – at North East, England
Midlands memories from 60 years ago, seen in a "Top Teams of 1964" booklet in the Rover & Wizard comic. Surely too early for @GaryLineker but maybe not for @MemorabiliaMal @Detroit67Book @collectfootball I didn't know Arsenal captain Frank McLintock (now 84) was once a Fox!
Blimey, there were a few tasty British players around in 1964, as seen in this Top Teams booklet in Rover & Wizard. I am not sure why Wales didn't feature. Maybe @MemorabiliaMal @Detroit67Book @collectfootball might know...
FA Cup memories prompted by a Top Teams booklet in Rover & Wizard in 1964. The following year my team Leeds United met Liverpool at Wembley & lost. Let's not mention the 1973 final v Sunderland. Odd to think PNE used to be up there @MemorabiliaMal @Detroit67Book @collectfootball
Football legends from 60 years ago. To be enjoyed, I'm sure by @MemorabiliaMal @Detroit67Book @collectfootball Proper players. Proper strips.
The clock at Berwick upon Tweed station shows the time - but the wrong time. It's about five minutes fast. Very confusing. – at North East, England
Lots of blokes replying "Look at your phone, mate". That's not the point.
The Victorians who built Central Station gifted #Newcastle a beautiful building. So why are we incapable of even having the clock tell the right time?
It's a civic pride thing as much as a practical one.
If you're interested in local history & are lucky enough to be in North Northumberland on Thurs, 24 Oct, do drop into Etal Village Hall at 6pm for my talk on 25 local WWI memorials. Entry is free. Donations will go to @PoppyLegion Email [email protected] to register interest.
BBC: a storm in the USA is the first story on the 10 o clock news? What is wrong with you? What has happened to what used to be the world's best broadcaster?
The BBC seems to be running its own odd agenda in connection with the Mohamed Fayed era at Harrods (1985-2010). I am intrigued about its pursuit of Harrods execs of that period. Is Harrods on your CV now a kiss of death? My latest opinion column is here: bit.ly/47ZQ8xL

🚨Reform leader @Nigel_Farage believes two thirds of Brits would back joining Russia & Belarus as the only European countries outside the European Convention on Human Rights.
If you think he’s talking boll**** RT this to let him know
But some of the vocals are a tiny bit lacking. Why didn't they hire you @SuperWicksy ?
I was very pleased to write this feature for @Drapers about a very Inspiring Independent, Spoiled Life. – at North East, England
The Spoiled Hairdressing salon has been a fixture in St Andrews for more than 10 years, so owners Steve Davies and Glenn Malloy used their inside knowledge of the Scottish town’s consumers when they devised the appealing concept for Spoiled Life.
