ALT Automatic Voter Registration makes it super easy for Oregonians to register to vote. Here's how it works!

ALT When you apply for, renew or replace a driver’s license, permit, or identification card in Oregon, the DMV submits your information to the Secretary of State to register you to vote. To qualify for registration you must prove three things: A. You’re at least 16 years old* B. You’re a U.S. citizen C. You’re a resident of Oregon Or attest under penalty of felony prosecution and fines that you are eligible to vote in Oregon. *16 year-olds can pre-register to vote in Oregon, but they won’t get a ballot until they’re 18.

ALT After your DMV visit, you’ll get an Oregon Motor Voter (OMV) card in the mail that explains your Automatic Voter Registration options. If you want to be a non-affiliated voter, no need to do anything. But if you want to join a political party, you can choose your party affiliation on the card. Follow the instructions on the card to mail it in.

ALT Have you heard of ERIC? The Electronic Registration Information Center is a nonprofit started by Republican and Democratic elections officials to share information between states.

ALT What ERIC does: - ERIC provides Oregon with monthly data showing voters who have moved out of state, passed away, or otherwise become ineligible to vote. - Local election officials use ERIC data, along with other data like USPS change of address information, to keep Oregon’s voter rolls up to date. - ERIC produces reports of eligible but unregistered voters so states can contact them about their right to vote.
