I found a wedding ring in the pocket of a jacket I bought at a thrift store. There was a name engraved inside. “Clara.” I almost threw it away. Then I noticed a date. June 18, 1998. I searched the name online and found an old newspaper article about a woman named Clara who had disappeared three days before her wedding. The article included a photograph. She was wearing the exact same ring. I kept staring at the picture. Then I noticed something. The man standing beside her looked exactly like the person who sold me the jacket.
