So, after eighteen months of lying on the supermarket floor screaming at Denmark, Donald Trump has been handed the 1951 defence agreement, which already gave America bases and the run of Greenland for as long as NATO exists, and which it was using so enthusiastically that it closed sixteen of its seventeen installations there. The grown-ups have simply wrapped the toy he already owned in shiny new paper, told him it was the biggest present anyone has ever had, and he is now running round the garden showing it to everyone. He will certainly make the history books, although I fear not in the chapter he was hoping for.
This historic deal is a huge win for the United States and the American people. Thanks to President Trump’s vision and leadership, this historic agreement permanently guarantees U.S. security interests in the Arctic at zero cost to the U.S. taxpayer.
Greenland will forever be part of the strategic defense area of North America and exclude any adversary from it and the surrounding area.
This deal permanently and completely addresses our national security concerns in Greenland.

So let’s get this right Hegseth. You and your boss start a war against Iran without even informing never mind consulting your European allies, during which Iran seizes the Strait of Hormuz — which you’re now struggling to wrest back. And now you say it’s Europe’s fight rather than America’s.
No. You broke it. You fix it.

Apparently our Friends in Denmark just signed a treaty or deal almost if not completely identical to one from 1951 and Trump thinks he got one over on them. Props to our Danish brothers & Sisters for making a fool of Trump yet again.

Mr. President, the rhetoric is bigger than the deal.
1951: Denmark retained sovereignty over Greenland, while the U.S. received broad military access.
2026: Denmark and Greenland retain sovereignty and self-determination, while the U.S. receives expanded security and military access.
That is an important security agreement — but it is not American ownership, annexation, or a transfer of sovereignty.
The “historic” part is largely an expansion and formalization of defense arrangements that have existed for decades.
Military access is not sovereignty. Security cooperation is not ownership. A new announcement does not rewrite the old legal reality.
Facts matter — especially when the headline is bigger than the substance. 🇺🇸🇩🇰🇬🇱

Trump announces something that has existed for decades and thinks he did it because he's a moron.

This is the same agreement that was signed in 1951. Trump was duped big time.

The Two Press Corps
American reporter: Mr. President, Iran says it now controls the Strait of Hormuz. Your response?
Trump: Which news agency are you with?
Reporter: Reuters, sir.
Trump: Fake news.
Reporter: Thank you, Mr. President.
The reporter sits down. The next hand goes up with a question about the White House ballroom.
Later the same afternoon.
European reporter: Mr. President, Iran says it controls the Strait of Hormuz. Tanker traffic is down forty percent. What is your plan?
Trump: Which agency are you with?
Reporter: Deutsche Presse-Agentur. And the question stands.
Trump: Fake news. Total fake news.
Reporter: The shipping data comes from your own Department of Energy, sir. Are they fake news too?
Trump: Next question.
Reporter: That was the next question.
Two reporters, same question, same non-answer. The difference is what happened next. One said thank you and sat down. The other stayed standing and asked again. Access is not journalism. Follow-up questions are.
