It is always a highlight of the day when a student comes to the office and wants to read to me😀. Love to see the progress. @SchoolFleming @Msfarag_ @m_s_lawrence7

Awesome to see parents participating in the 2nd early literacy session @SchoolFleming with @AArslan2019 $ Ms. Leong. Thanks to @Msfarag_ & @AArslan2019 for planning. #SoR #communitybuilding #righttoread @EarlyYearsTDSB @tdsb @mgala19 @MrJ_TDSB
Working on our final touches for our parent early literacy session on April 19th @SchoolFleming with @AArslan2019! #SoR #communitybuilding #righttoread @EarlyYearsTDSB @tdsb @mgala19 @MrJ_TDSB
Love seeing the different ways Ss chose to represent their breathing strategies in their classes. Here are the grade 7’s strategies telling us how to keep our cool/hair on 😂 #mindsup #SEL #emotionalregulation #zonesofreg @NasreenKhanTDSB
Gr. 2 Ss stopped me in the hallway to ask: how many sounds are in ‘read’? How do you map the word ‘sunny’? These wonderings have now placed these words into their memory. The level of engagement and excitement in #structuredliteracy is astounding when students see the code!
Amazed by Ms. Leong’s grade one class who are now able to hear and write the different vowel sounds. Blends, digraph and compound words are a piece of 🎂 for this class! So much progress but clearly so much effort and work to get here! 👏 #scienceofreading #structuredliteracy
Teachers @SchoolFleming are unpacking decodable texts and literacy resources during our 3rd PLC with our amazing SLP. @TDSB_SLP @LC3_TDSB #SoR #righttoread #decodable
We are well on the way in planning our next parent literacy session @SchoolFleming. #april19 #scienceofreading #parentconnection @tdsb @mgala19
Daughter: “Grumpy uses all the boxes!” I see value in using these in small groups. As a personal preference I went with magnets vs. Velcro. In hindsight the “qu” grapheme would replace the blue “q”. I wrote on the placemat where to place the graphemes on the right. @UFLiteracy
To add other graphemes on the right, I made sure to write on the outside of the lamination so I can erase and add other graphemes that we will learn later on. #structuredliteracy
What other adaptations did teachers make for class use? Template: ufli.education.ufl.edu/wp-co…
Another wonderful @ZonesOfReg inspired session in gr 6. Ss reviewed breathing strategies, listened to a #brave friend share about personal #anxiety and will create their own breathing visuals to put up in a common place for peers to use. @TDSB_MHWB @tdsb @SchoolFleming
The visuals from our breathing strategies session with our grade 6 Ss @SchoolFleming ❤️❤️❤️@SELearningEDU @TDSB_MHWB @tdsb
In our gr 2 class @SchoolFleming students were asked, “what is reading?” Look at their deep thoughts! S: “animals read the weather.”
S: “without reading ppl can’t learn”
And my favourite 🥁
S: “Teachers need to learn how to teach us how to read in different ways”
@Bontonians
Snow cones 🍧 anyone?!! Love the creativity and teamwork 😂 @SchoolFleming @tdsb
