Hands down one of the worst halves of football you will watch: Premiership footballers struggling to pass a ball five yards and players not doing the basics.

Lasted 3 months now I'm looking at getting back involved.
First time in 20 years I've not been involved in pre-season, whether that be as a player or manager, and I can honestly say I've not missed it one bit. Not sure I'll be saying the same thing in a few months' time when my Mrs is dragging me out shopping.

If you want players like Diogo Dalot to be starters at United, then you have absolutely NO right to demand trophies. You can’t have it both ways.

@cardiffcouncil @NoelMooney13 We're trying to raise the standard of Grassroots & Welsh football, but this is the standard of pitches you're making U10s play at. This age we're trying to get kids to fall in love with football not fall out of it. Our younger players deserve better.

Exactly 3 years ago I posted this, yet still nothing has been done! How are we normalising kids playing fixtures on these facilities. Disgrace 🤦🏽‍♂️
This is the state of what @cardiffcouncil expect our kids to train/play on. Can anyone please explain how this is acceptable for U6s to play on. Absolute shambles that teams are priced out of 4G pitches and forced to use these shocking facilities.

70% of players quit sport by age 13. Not because they stopped loving the game. Because someone made them stop loving it. 9 out of 10 kids say the primary reason they play sports is to have fun. And winning? Ranked only 48th in importance. I sometimes feel that the entire architecture of youth football is built around the thing kids rank 48th

6–12 year olds don't need a football Instagram account, a highlight reel every week and every team or academy they play for in their bio. They're children, not professional footballers. Let them enjoy the game without putting adult expectations on them.

Can someone PLEASE explain what the hell is going on with Premier League transfer fees?! 😭💰 Savinho joined Man City for around £20M in 2024, completely stunk the place out for two seasons, scored just SEVEN goals in 84 games… and has now been sold to Tottenham for £85M. 🤯 Then there’s Liam Delap. Chelsea paid around £30M for him last summer, he completely sh*t the bed with THREE goals in 47 games… and now Nottingham Forest are paying £50M for him. 😭 Two players. 10 goals in 131 games. Combined sale price: £135M. PLEASE. MAKE. IT. MAKE. SENSE. 😭😭

Incredible footage of Johan Cruyff training in 1973. Yes… 53 years ago. 🤯⚽️ And yet the message for players today is exactly the same: You get out what you put in. Cruyff grabs a coach, a few players, finds a patch of grass in a park and gets to work. No perfect training ground. No fancy equipment. No technology. Trees for goalposts. And they’re working on specific actions Cruyff needs to perform in games. He wasn’t just “doing extra.” He was working on his game. There’s a massive difference! For those who genuinely study football, there is so much to learn from every generation of the game. Sometimes we look at modern football as though everything we see today has just been invented. It hasn’t!!!!! A huge amount of what we see now is simply an evolution or adaptation of ideas, movements and training methods that existed decades ago. The game changes. The principles don’t. And one thing has remained true through every era: The players who reach the top, and, more importantly, stay at the top, they are usually the ones who keep working on their game. Not only when the team trains. Not only when the coach is watching. But outside of it too. Some call it talent, but the talent calls it hard work! #cruyff #johancruyff

You couldn't make it up. Talks of pushing kids/Youth football to a summer league, now we're in the summer, games are being called off. Kids will be lucky to play 12 weeks of football all year 🤦🏽‍♂️. That's fine we'll pay stupid money to hire 3Gs 🤥
Due to dry conditions on pitches across Wales, the FAW has released interim guidance to Area Associations, Leagues and Clubs regarding assessing hard grounds.

Football's becoming increasingly difficult to watch lately, players throwing themselves to the ground, players cheating their way through the game. Unfortunately, I can't see a way back to good, fast-flowing ⚽️
