The week of Juneteenth seems appropriate for AP AfAm Scholars to have presented their final project on Most Influential Black Icons and Organizations in history. Selected icons were Marvin Gaye, James Brown & Zora Neale Hurston; Organization were NAACP, Underground RR, & NCNW

Final prep for their exam: @_SalemHigh_ scholars in AP African American Studies reviewed key terms, concepts, and connections with Hexagonal Thinking. 15 min. to arrange tiles— anything that touches shares a connection that can be explained. Ended with gallery walk/presentations
AP AfAm analyzed Du Bois’s “The Souls of Black Folk,” & selected excepts to create blackout & found poetry connected to concepts like Double Consciousness.
Pre-AP World engaged in a collaborative discussion around the impact of Islam in Post-classical West and East Africa.
