Alief ISD is proud to be represented by our very own Renferd Joseph and Mireya Lara! Our team will share their expertise at the Arts Schools Network conference in San Diego, California, presenting “Stop Talking About It. Build It: A Proven Playbook for Launching a Thriving Arts Academy.” We are proud of our staff for sharing their knowledge, leadership, and commitment to advancing arts education and creating meaningful learning experiences for students. #AliefProud #WeAreAlief

Alief ISD was honored to welcome global musical artist and proud Alief native Lizzo back to the community! A former student of Hicks Elementary, Youngblood Intermediate, and Elsik High School, Lizzo returned to share her story, celebrate her Alief roots, and inspire the next generation. During her visit, Lizzo shared her newly published children’s book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B Flootin, with students and talked about her journey in music. She also brought her musical talent to the experience with a special flute performance! Welcome home, Lizzo! We’re proud to call you one of our own! #AliefProud #YouBelongHere #AliefISD

One year ago, a fall ended her season. This year, she finished on top. Alief Taylor High School senior McKale Lee stamped her mark on the State Meet, unleashing an incredible late surge to claim the 6A Girls 800m State Championship with a time of 2:08.69. Her journey is a true testament to resilience, determination, and the power of perseverance. From setback to state champion, McKale showed what it means to rise stronger and represent Alief with pride. Congratulations, McKale, your Alief ISD family is cheering you on every step of the way! #WeAreAlief #AliefProud #StateChampion
