Dr. Kathy Escamilla’s keynote was a great start to today’s #BiliteracyInstitute. Students benefit from an assets-based approach rather than deficits-based, especially EBs. All language domains, including metalinguistic awareness, must be focuses from the beginning of literacy ed.
