when I was little my dad told me that Ernest Hemingway left his cats to babysit for his baby & once when he was away longer than expected he returned to find the cat had brought the baby a fish (for dinner?)

Tonight I was too tired to move so my husband made peanut butter & Fluff sandwiches cut into triangles and arranged daintily on a white plate or what I can only describe as “a tea party made by a dad” 🫖

One thing that’s so interesting is that people *like* things made by women. They just don’t often instinctively believe in the intention/auteurship of women, or that what they make is therefore “Important” in the same way

Yesterday I experienced what Freud called "penis envy" for possibly the first time in my life. I was watching an interview with a young male film director, and I noticed the difference in the way people treat him and discuss his work, and I just...it was Freudian.

it’s too brilliant to stop watching but I kind of want to stop watching but then I won’t see the 80s wigs 📺
