Students have been hard at work in math, learning about the relationship between addition and subtraction through fact families. To make it fun, students created an adorable fact family craft!🍭 @RobertHunterES @FlemRarSchools

In Science, students explored how shadows are created. They also observed what happened to their shadows over the course of the school day. The position of the sun in the sky changed, so the location and length of their shadows also changed!☀️👤 @RobertHunterES @FlemRarSchools

It wouldn’t be October without Pumpkins! After reading The Bumpy Pumpkin, students painted their very own pumpkin patches. Their creativity soared as they designed three different pumpkins!🎃 @RobertHunterES @FlemRarSchools

Students have been hard at work in their reading groups. After reading, they’ve been completing writing responses in their journals. Students use evidence from the text to support their responses. They are reading and writing rockstars!🌟 @RobertHunterES @FlemRarSchools

It wouldn’t be Johnny Appleseed day without eating some apples! Students helped make homemade applesauce. We peeled and cut the apples, added sugar and cinnamon, and let it cook in the crockpot for a few hours! We ended our day with a taste test - delicious!🍎🤩 @RobertHunterES

As 1st graders, we have been learning about different ways to read books in our classroom. Sometimes we get the chance to read with a partner. When we read with a partner, we sit elbow to elbow and knee to knee (EEKK). Check it out!📚 @RobertHunterES

Today we welcomed Tango back into our classroom! We were so happy to ask Mrs. Murphy questions to get to know Tango better. We loved petting him and giving him hugs. Some of us even got a few kisses!🐾💗 @RobertHunterES
