Really proud of grade 9 this week. They were handed a complex prompt involving 3 techniques & 2 texts; we broke the prompt down together and they crushed it.
Literary analysis looks like: exemplar, rubric, texts, organizer, & hand written as we cover grammar and punctuation.
Grade 9 worked hard to deeply analyze a poem and connect it to our novel. Excited to work through our first longer literary analysis piece this week!
A great week with this crew! Dove deep into the analysis of multiple texts. We are actively comparing two texts for theme, conflict, characterization, and figurative language. Can’t wait to see what their writing pieces look like next week! #goWitch

Tonight had the honor to celebrate with the families of Salem High School’s Northeast Conference Scholar Athletes Oscar Fernandez and Mia Silva. #GoWitch
Look at all this green! My goal: students reading below grade level (~35) on STAR reading comprehension would grow at least 20% (~1.5 GLE). Students instead surpassed my goal and increased their GLE by a median of 55.2% with the highest being 125% increase. So proud of them!
