Making Harappan seals in social studies class because we have an awesome integrated arts teacher who collaborates… and has a kiln!
Hey @VtHumanities My 6th grade classes just finished reading #TheMostCostlyJourney and growing related background knowledge. Today we jigsawed the "about" sections of the websites of grass roots orgs that are currently supporting our migrant farm worker neighbors here in VT.
How can we teach migrant workers to build basic greenhouses so they can grow foods that are culturally familiar to them?
Speed dating books for our upcoming Climate Justice book clubs. Our book clubs this year will align with section 1.3 of the T&G Global Ends Policy and grow our understanding of the world and our environment.

6th graders reading The Most Costly Journey, identifying push factors, pull factors, challenges, supports in VT and things left behind, and attaching them to our El Imigrante board. @VtHumanities #TheMostCostlyJourney
I am currently writing my unit plan for teaching this #VermontReads2022 story collection to my classes this fall. Thank you @VtHumanities for granting my project a set of #TheMostCostlyJourney books.
An instructor recommended this book in a class several years ago and I am finally getting around to reading it today - so many practical ideas for any subject or grade that can be implemented with little prep.
These kids love number talks. It’s amazing how much more enthusiasm they have for math when we remove the problem sets and exit tickets.
My 5th math planned every step: research ideas how to reuse kcups, choose project (make seed starters), plan the steps, assign jobs, calculations, ask PTO for supply $, all packaging and design, planting, distribute to community. Along the way, we learned how to calculate volume!
G3 learned about parallelograms this a.m. and then look what the sunshine gave us at the end of class!
