Early years is about children's development and care, as well as about their learning. The three aspects tend to be very closely intertwined and they are all important. This is part of why we don't have 'subjects' in the #EYFS and also why the prime areas are so fundamental.

If we don’t value those brilliant souls who inspire our kids in their early years then expanding hours won’t happen for anyone - the Tories refused to acknowledge how badly they have been treated. This government is honest about the scale of the challenge and the need to invest.

Oh this is so lovely! I’m so happy to see this and what a brilliant retelling of Hello, Friend! 😍👏🤩
Listening to a nursery child retelling one of their favourite stories fills me with joy! This book by illustrator and author @rebecca_cobb 😊 is very popular in @NewSilksAcademy Nursery! #WeAreReaders ❤️

Today a Reception child @NewSilksAcademy wrote a book all about The Life Cycle of a Butterfly. She went to see Mrs Robins who was very impressed with her fantastic writing and gave her a Head Teachers Award. She was very proud to hear that she was inspiring 🤩@Emma_Robins80

We have loved our balance bike sessions @NewSilksAcademy. It has been great to see the children growing in confidence as they have rode the bikes. Today they even took on the challenge of riding over the ramp! Thank you to @WheelEducation for their brilliant training and patience

I can’t tell you how much joy seeing children in EYFS demonstrating their love of learning brings. Look at the curiosity, exploration, creativity and application of finer motor skills. 🥰
Nursery @NewSilksAcademy explored flowers today, looking closely & drawing what they saw. One child made a flower using a stick she found in the garden, carefully wrapping the stick with pink thread and wool. Very soon, her friends joined her. 💐 #TimetoBloom #EYFS #WeAreGrowing

Nursery @NewSilksAcademy enjoyed 'Lulu loves the library.' After a visit to the library, mummy & Lulu go to a coffee shop, mummy has a cappuccino, & Lulu has juice. Children explored the sensory aspects of the story and made 'cappuccinos' today☕️ @LettersSounds @NewSilksAcademy

The look of concentration @NewSilksAcademy as the children work together to use screws, bolts, wheels and blocks to create vehicles. Lots of new vocabulary used as they constructed 🤩 #WeAreResilient

It warms my soul when I see our youngest children enjoying opportunities for free artistic exploration. Today, this 2 year old was completely absorbed, just painting a cup. Nobody existed for that moment in time. Beautiful 😍 #WeAre @NewSilksAcademy @extoltrust

Flower Pounding in Early Leaners EYFS @NewSilksAcademy Pigments in flowers make nature beautiful and attract pollinators, but we can also use them to make art. Today, we noticed that sometimes, the colour transferred was not as expected. 🔨🌸 #ScienceForces #DTTools @extoltrust

Our ducklings look great on display @NewSilksAcademy Love that every one is different. The children used pieces of cardboard to paint the body and then the head, painting without an outline and then added the beak and feet. #WeaAreCreative 🐤

How can we explore colour? What can we see? How can we explore materials and marks? Early Learners (2yrs) @NewSilksAcademy have explored flowers; the colours, the smell, and the textures. Some children looked closer and made marks to record what they could see. @extoltrust
