Learning disability nursing to me is about promoting inclusion, recognising the intrinsic value that everyone has and standing up against inequality. Ensuring everyone gets the opportunity to live a life meaningful to THEM. Its about sharing, laughing, and celebrating.

To me, being an #RNLD means supporting people to achieve their best possible outcomes, providing #holistic, #personcentred care and working with the person, their families and carers. The ability to make a difference is humbling. #LDWeek2023

Day 3 #LDWeek23 Another great myth - when I'm having a bad day people say “George is having a bad day” – when my colleague who also happens 2 have a #LearningDisability has a bad day, they are called “challenging”. WRONG they 2 are just having a “bad day” we all have them #RNLD

If you are nervous about #CervicalScreening talk to your #doctor, ask questions, ask for #reasonableadjustments. #learningdisability #autism @ciarale01 @HIOW_ICS #NHS @MrsSarahFoster @DebDMA
If you're nervous or unsure about getting your cervical screening, GP, Dr Charlotte Hutchings and nurse, Paige Gwyer, have got some really helpful advice and information to reassure you. Don't delay your screening, it could save your life. #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek

Day 2 #LDWeek23 I am often told that people are “too disabled to contribute” 2 which I respond “Are they???? or is it that we have not yet heard what they would like 2 share & how they would like 2 be heard???” I’m an #RNLD it's not my job 2 give up because it's too #DIFFICULT
