We kept with the Thanksgiving theme in gym class this week by playing "Stuff the Turkey." Ask your child how to play. 馃
Our grade 1 friends and family were very creative disguising their turkeys, so that they did not become Thanksgiving dinner! Thank you, to everyone who gathered with their families to work on this special project. 鉂わ笍
Inspired by artist, Romero Britto, our grade one friends created autumn leaves using various types of lines, bold colours, oil pastels and watercolour paint. 馃帹

We are learning about numbers 0 to 10 through our Jump Math program. We loved drawing numbers on each other's back. Don't forget to ask your child about our song "If you're happy and you know it, count to 10."
Our grade 1 friends are loving the M.I.N.D. 2.0 - Facts on Fire program. Our goal is to build automaticity and fluency in our numeracy and computation skills.
We started our Flyleaf reading program last week. Our grade 1 friends enjoyed using whisper phones while reading some decodable books. Our Flyleaf roll and read center was a favourite, too! #ocsbLiteracy
We spent the first few weeks of grade 1 getting to know each other. We are learning that our class is a family.

Our class is participating in the Great Gingerbread Exchange this year. We decorated some gingerbread men, wrote Christmas letters and sent them to 19 classes in Ontario. We love opening the letters that have been sent to us and learning about different schools in our province.
Our class loved our literacy centers this week! #ocsbLiteracy
We are loving the snowy weather and are using it as inspiration for our reading and writing activities! 鈽冿笍
