Set up and waiting for my last forest school session before maternity leave...
No one wanted the last @UnityBlackpool #forestschool session to end, especially when we had 'smores'!
🐌🥰
Super chilled day @UnityBlackpool #forestschool. Lots of empathy shown today for each other and nature 🥰 🐌
Beautifully cool surrounded by the trees, a stark contrast to the heat on the concrete yard 🍃🍃
Super hot day on Monday @UnityBlackpool forest school but they still made a fire and sat quietly around for 30 minutes for their bread to cook! So many skills put into this from the fire, to preparing sticks, making dough and cooking it! Delicious with Nutella.
So much playfulness and cooperation today 💚
Wonderful session today @UnityBlackpool #forestschool making charcoal pencils on the fire, drawing, making assault courses and playing in the water! Lovely hearing how they are using their coping tools outside of the sessions too. 🍃
Part of me dreads another 1.5hrs at school after a full day but it always ends as a highlight of the week. I love sitting down to eat, chat and play games with this lot. @JamiesFarm
We had a mix of things on the go last night utilising all of the chicken thighs. They made a broth which they used in the bounty curry instead of a stock cube (and drank the rest!) Crispy chicken skin snacks and homemade flat breads with no input from me! #proud @UnityBlackpool
They all got stuck in to everything even when it scared them today 😊🍃 They all did fabulous!
So wonderful to be back at forest school with @UnityBlackpool after 2 bank holidays. Today the students really bloomed, showing teamwork, confidence and lots of resilience.

Great start with the new @UnityBlackpool students doing forest school this week, getting stuck in with fire making, whittling and making herbal teas 🍃
Friday night treat with our @UnityBlackpool @JamiesFarm legacy group.... @jamieoliver's £1 pizza! So simple and so tasty!
The @UnityBlackpool #pantomime is back and was such a fun, positive end to a long hard term! Thanks Mr Lee and well done everyone! #wizardofoz #dorothy
@MrsPowerUnity the bounty curry was amazing, who knew! Thank you, our @UnityBlackpool students even took home the recipe 💚
When you do a knowledge check on the last lesson of term, have 15 minutes left and your y10s ask to look at the specimens in the cupboard for fun 🥰 although it wasnt fun trying to get them all back in the cupboard!
Clubs can feel like such an added pressure on top of a busy day but so rewarding. Today @UnityBlackpool students made pasta, looked at budgeting and healthy eating, worked together, checked in and gave shout outs before sitting down to eat together. 1.5 hours well spent.
Lest we forget

We also faced a rather hot day... but what could be better than sitting in a hammock with a breeze on your face and a lump of ice on your head 😂💚
Just like that @UnityBlackpool KS3 students have come to the end of their #forestschool journey as they move up into KS4. Ending on a team game of capture the flag. Planning, rule making, resilience and laughter.. a far cry from where they were in Sept #proud #thisisap

So today the students made bread and we cooked it over the fire before smothering it in garlic butter! 15 minutes of wonderful calm and concentration whilst they cooked it to perfection! Delicious 💚

Such a lovely feeling getting the @UnityBlackpool boys back together after our trip to @JamiesFarm, cooking a fabulous casserole and sitting down to eat together. Heart warming to hear them checking in and giving shout outs to each other 💚 #legacy #thisisap #KindnessMatters

This week has been all about foraging and food prep. Everyone is loving the current glut of raspberries and it has been wonderful watching them discover the new fruits as well as sharing with each other. #forestschool
