Fern Hill spent the year learning & having fun in their garden 🌱 They planted seedlings, tended the garden, and harvested the produce for an end-of-the-year Harvest Party! Students helped prep the veggies & cafeteria staff roasted kale chips & beets 🥬 Way to go! #WCAEF #WCASD

Heritage Day at @FernHillES continues to be a great day for connection thanks to all of the presenters who shared their cultures with students 🗺️ Students attended sessions where they learned about a variety of cultures including Nigeria, Pakistan, Argentina & more 🌏 #wcasd

This month, the #WCASD @FernHillES Kindness Crew encouraged students to participate in a school-wide coin war competition to benefit Furvivors, with the proceeds going directly to horses at the rescue 🐴 As a thank you, Furvivors brought a sweet rescue horse, Aggie, to FHE!

These lucky Fern Hill students met Lakyn and one of her amazing horses, “Aggie" today. Lakyn founded Furvivors Horse Rescue, which helps “unwanted, neglected, abandoned, and at-risk horses rise to their full potential in Chester County.” Great job, Lakyn & Aggie. You rock!

Fern Hill's 2nd graders ended last week with an exciting musical performance with the help of local folk singer, KJ! KJ & the students wrote songs together, made their own instruments, & then performed their songs for parents & students 🎼#WCASD

For SEL we did a lesson based on the book, “The Invisible Boy.” We focused on being empathetic and compassionate towards others and making sure no one feels “invisible.” The class discussed what being included meant and how to make someone feel seen @MrsMizesClass
