Sometimes you just gotta take it one step at a time. In the winter, wildlife endures extremes of cold and the absence of ready food. Their tracks through deep snow tell tales of their tenacious struggles throughout the long winter. Hang in there, winter always turns to spring.

On this day in 1895, photographer Dorothea Lange was born. Much of her work is held at the Library, providing a visual guide to incredibly turbulent times in America, from the Great Depression to the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.

Mondays can be un-bear-able.

Did you catch the full moon this morning? In Glacier Bay, the winter full moon lines up almost perfectly with the Fairweather mountain range during sunrise. Watch as the full moon sets behind 15,325’ Mount Fairweather in this timelapse video!

It’s National Hiking Day! Hiking is a great way to see wildlife and bask in nature’s beauty. Hike alone for peace and clarity or with friends for a fun bonding experience. Check out some Leave No Trace principles before you go: fws.gov/project/leave-no-tra… Photo by Lisa Hupp / @USFWS

We wanted to again reiterate, if you usually carry salmon or honey on your person. Avoid Morrison Stadium tonight as the Park Service has designated it Bear Country tonight due to increased bear populations in the area. #WeAreBryan #VamosJuntos #TogetherWeGo
