So great to hear the cheers at Battle of the Books today when @IceNIN75 announced that @nielsenwriter will be returning to @sd58connect in the fall! We look forward to her visiting our schools.

The 2024 @sd58connect #BattleoftheBooks is happening right now!

So very lucky to begin last week @Central_Hawks with an author visit from @leefodi ! From Rooster-Dragons to writing acceptance letters for a magical school they created our students had their imaginations fired up! Best question I got: When is he coming back? @sd58connect

Also, we put together a book display with books that have settings in different countries around the world. Who has a great kids book (#picturebook or #mglit) and what country is it set in? Looking for more for our display!

We have begun our Read Around the World challenge at @Central_Hawks You really can travel the world through stories! 📚 🌎 #readaroundtheworld #loveourlibrary #bulletinboarddisplay #readingdisplay #librarychallenge

What a fun story to read for #valentines week. A great book for practicing our inference skills. #Lovemylibrary

It was such a great reading weekend. @nielsenwriter this is my favourite yet! I can't wait to booktalk it & then discuss it with the students as they read it. I know quite a few who will just love it. #BookRecommendations

Spoiler alert Amulet fans! Love these two quotes from the end of @boltcity's Waverider. Great themes of teamwork, family, staying centered and not allowing fear to guide your decision making. A fabulous finale! #Amulet #Waverider

Whew! Just finished this. Tomorrow's going to be a fun day as I announce that the 9th book in our 2024 Battle of the Books is @boltcity's Waverider & that we have 5 copies available for our 5 intermediate classes to sign out (my 6th copy is hopefully in the mail). #Amulet

Love that our admins had a theme for #WorldReadAloudDay2024! @OmoriNatasha read The Good Egg to our entire school and had them captivated. She's a Verrrrry Good Egg! @IamJoryJohn @peteoswaldart

Happy #WorldReadAloudDay! It was great to join @sharigreen and hear about her newest book Game Face and how her 'story seeds' germinate.

Friends are more fun than toys! #PiggieandElephant #WorldReadAloudDay #WorldReadAloudDay2024

A bunch of @MoWillems "characters" at our school on #WorldReadAloudDay2024 @The_Pigeon

Our Shelfie Selfies revealed! These promoted such great conversations around what folks are reading. This was a great way for our students to see us as readers too. @sd58connect #welovereading #welovebooks

I am excited to hear conversations around what genres, authors and formats staff read, as the students try to figure out which selfie matches each shelfie @Central_Hawks

Best moment was when a teacher exclaimed: What!? I didn't know we had this! Awesome. That's why I did this. Mission accomplished. #librarylove #loveourlibrary #morethanbooks

I am hosting a teacher "book fair" this week. These are teacher resources we have in the library for educators to sign out and use. Teachers get to browse what we have while sipping tea and munching a cookie. A little calm spot in this crazy week leading up to winter break.
