Are there other antibodies, besides rituximab/obinutuzumab, that should be tested in combination with BTK inhibitors in CLL? We think that anti-CXCR4 antibodies are particularly interesting candidates (Pavlasova et al, HemaSphere): onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
A fantastic EHA 2026 for the lab: 3 oral presentations, 2 posters, many inspiring discussions, new collaborations taking shape, and, as always, the opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues.
Dr. Daniel Filip (Dano) has completed his PhD. Very proud of him and the work he has done in the lab (Filip et al, Leukemia, 2026 + 5 other papers). We have a new doctor !
Very humbled and honored to receive the Jessenius Award (Physician of the Year 2025) from the Patients Association of the Czech Republic. Named after Jan Jessenius,who performed the first public autopsy in the Czech lands (1600) and wrote an important book on surgical procedures.

I very much enjoyed giving a talk at UK CLL forum, and especially discussing with Prof. Ulf Klein - the creator of the DLEU2/Mir-15a/Mir-16-1 deleted mice.
Very proud to share our new paper demonstrating that transformed follicular lymphoma has increased activity of CD40 signalling due to lower levels of miR-29. Evidence that the B-T cell interactions are important in tFL (Filip et al, Leukemia, 2026, rdcu.be/e4HwW).
It was an honor to host Prof. Maite Huarte, who gave an invited talk on lncRNAs biology at Masaryk University, and to discuss research on non-coding RNAs with us (16.10.2025)
