Fellow psychologists and therapists, what's the strangest thing you've done in session with a client or yourself as homework to help them, and why did you do it? #TherapistTwitter I'll get the ball going with some of mine below
Yesterday was my last day as a full-time support worker. Leaving the team was the hardest moment so far. Watching their compassion for supporting the most vulnerable people each day has been a privilege and an honour. Huge respect and admiration for #carers always

I was really lucky to have selected this text to read. it has been invaluable for building practical knowledge just as I am about to enter the a forensic setting as an assistant psychologist
I look forward to reading this work by @TullyForenPsych and @JenBamford. I intend on bringing some of their teachings to the future AP interviews
Just before the weekend starts I have been offered and accepted a role as an assistant psychologist!
Now it’s time to celebrate 🎉

Coming towards the end of this book unfortunately. I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in the field. The cases are incredibly insightful for anyone wanting to know more about assessment, formulation and intervention in various settings. Well delivered too

Excellent considerations about doing a psychology degree here. I liked two points in particular:
1) the point made about the additional work required to become registered &
2) highlighting the BSc’s wide blend of literacy, numeracy and scientific method
Replying to @Dr_Paul_Penn
Those are some (not all) of the main considerations that I think should be taken into account when one is deciding whether to study for a degree in psychology based on my experience as a lecturer. I would be very interested in having input from other tutors in this thread! :-)

Can anyone on #psychology Twitter help with looking through some AP applications? Been rejected by about 90 different roles over the last 3 years & just got no clue where I’m going wrong. Application seems to go down well everywhere apart from NHS AP roles. – at Camberwell, London
Some reflections of my journey into an AP role so far:
1. It is an opportunity to surround myself with people who inspire me.
2. The process of applications and interviewing is extremely reflective. It prompts you to think about experience constructively
3. The job interview is not the be all and end all. The feedback gained from unsuccessful interviews can be fed forward to future interviews.
4. It’s a buzz. The search and the hunt should be fun and rewarding. There is a lot you can learn about yourself during the job hunt.
