Produced by the @MassStatePolice, the @CantonMAPolice, the @ATFBoston, and Norfolk County DA Michael Morrissey. Directed by Judge Beverly Cannone, and starring a seasoned cast of tattooed, juiced-up local thugs, hungover housewives, and one tragic dog named Chloe. Will the jury see the sad sack, dejected, low energy, stumble-bum prosecutor we’ve all grown to be thoroughly sick of, or will a new Lally appear for the jury, full of confident zeal and righteous condemnation of Kold Killer Karen? - What in gods name is Lally’s theory of this case? How will he convince the jury beyond a reasonable doubt that KR killed JOK with her car? He’s gonna need a thorough, detailed explanation of exactly how JOK ended up with only one mortal injury on the back of his head, animal scratches on his arm, and defensive boxing bruises on his hands if he was actually killed by a taillight. 2+ years later and we still have no inkling of the state’s accident reconstruction of this purported “motor vehicle homicide.” It’s Go Time for Lally, and it better be good if he wants a conviction. 🍿 * Yannetti’s Opening. I can’t wait to hear how DY summarizes the injustice of this prosecution. 🌸 KAREN READ TRIAL 🌸 A Drink Before the War, 4/28/24 * This is it, Kids: Tomorrow is the day we’ve all been waiting for, many of us wondering if it would even come. But, here we are: The trial of #KarenRead for a murder she did not commit is ON. 💥 * The jury is seated; the 200-foot Buffer Zone is allowed; and Opening Statements by both sides will be made tomorrow in Norfolk Superior Court (Dedham) at 9am sharp-ish. It will be livestreamed by several outlets. 💣 * David Yannetti (@BostonDefender) told the Court he will be making a 45-minute opening in KR’s defense. Yannetti is PERFECT for this job. He is passionate and earnest, eloquent and confident. His years as a prosecutor and his decades practicing criminal law in Mass courtrooms have made him formidable in the law and the ways of juries. He will be IMPLACABLE in his defense of Karen Read. 🥊 * In preparation for watching and commenting on the Trial of the Century (yes), I came up with a few guidelines to help keep my own commentary on point: 1. Ignore the trolls. Block, mute, lurk, whatever. But don’t engage. They’re a small, pathetic, angry, mindless mob repeating tired talking points & making idle threats to spin people up. Grant, Kevin, Andrea, TrueWine, Capt — their numbers are tiny and the only reason they have any reach at all is because our side, which is huge, gives them the attention they crave. Without our oxygen, they die. 🧟 2. Leave the O’Keefe Family out of it. They’re victims here too. They lost a most beloved son, brother, and father figure. I believe they deserve justice for what happened to JOK, and I won’t vilify them for being wrong for believing the lies of the McAlberts and corrupt cops & prosecutors. 💔 3. Follow the good guys! There are SO MANY good, credible, quality people supporting KR on Twitter. I’ve linked to some of my faves below, but please share your own so that our community can grow. 🩷-🩷-🩷 4. Go to Dedham! Wear pink. Bring an American flag. Don’t be afraid to stand up, stand out, and speak out. Buffer zones can’t stop us. Chaos agents and trolls can’t stop us. It shouldn’t be so hard to stop corruption in our state, but it is. I’ve got my pink shirts, pants, and sneaks. I know from personal experience that the regulars outside the courthouse are welcoming, peaceful, and super friendly. Go to Dedham! 🇺🇸 * It’s over for Lally & Morrissey. The prosecution doesn’t have any smoking guns. There are no late-breaking videos of KR’s “smashed” taillight. No credible witnesses. No devastating data or forensic experts. For whatever reason, the DA’s office is dragging this half-dead horse of a case to trial. They’re gonna lose, badly. Karen Read will be exonerated, and the corruption in Norfolk County will be exposed in all its festering ugliness for the whole world to see.
