Deeney: "Bayern have not been the same, what about the Bundesliga? They've been terrible."
Bayern's four home results so far this season before playing Arsenal.
Bundesliga:
Stuttgart: 5-1
Union Berlin: 7-0
Leipzig: 6-1
UCL
Bodo/Glimt: 5-0
Played 4, won 4, scored 23, conceded 2.
Honestly, this is the analysis people who pay money for subscriptions get?
There is no other team than Arsenal that could go away to Bayern, play really well, have a great game and come away with a deserved 2-2 draw and still get criticised.
Just complete and utter waffle of the highest order.
"It was just a performance that left me confused... I thought it was a game Arsenal should win and that's a credit to Arsenal."
@T_Deeney believes Arsenal could have given more to win the game 🗣️
And that’s another one they’ve paid off
I watched the F1 film with Brad Pitt the other day, and there’s a moment where his character asks to add something to the car that isn’t really in the rules. The FIA punishes it, but the team can still race with the earlier car. It made me think.
In F1, the best teams live at the edge of the regulations. Sometimes the FIA allows what they’ve found, and sometimes it says that goes too far. Occasionally the rules are rewritten afterwards.
Now, City. I’m not defending them. A commission found they entered into sham agreements and broke the spending limits. A sham is an arrangement that isn’t what it claims to be, so that’s a different thing from using a gap nobody had spotted.
City deny it and will appeal. But I find it useful to ask/reflect on how people inside the club see it.
From their point of view, PERHAPS they believe they were doing what elite competitors do: looking at the rules, finding the limits, challenging interpretations and moving faster than the regulatory system.
From the outside, you might look at that and say, “That’s cheating.” From inside the organisation, they might say, “We found something nobody had thought of.”
If you believe you’ve found a way to bring money in, more or less within the rules (and the commission said it was not in the rules and it was cheating), you might tell yourself you’re just being a sharp competitor.
We are all asking “did City cheat?”. But I find this question interesting too: “how did City come to believe they weren’t?”
And understanding a mindset, or trying to, isn’t excusing it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Manchester City were found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges by an independent commission. The comparison made is not in the same ball park to the level of rule breaking Man City have committed.

The irony being I will still be told Arsenal are the real cheats because Arteta steps out of his technical area and Ben White pulled a goalkeepers glove 3 seasons ago 😆😆😆

It's world suicide prevention day. 400,000 people in England alone consider taking their own life due to financial problems. 100,000 attempt it.
Today @MMHPI is launching the first Suicide Prevention Lab. Where Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Monzo & Nationwide have agreed to join us to pilot new approaches to preventing suicide.
Banks don't cause all these problems, but they are in a unique central position in people’s financial lives, and we want to see if it’s possible to take advantage of that to be able to spot when customers are in trouble and urgently direct them to the right support.
We aim to get under the bonnet to find the gaps, test new ways to identify and support people in crisis, and drive change not just with those who’ve signed up but right across the sector.
The fact it’s a Lab is important, there’s a lot to learn here to maximise how and when to safely and considerately use the data, when and how to intervene. potentially save lives.

This is not misinformation.
That's what I normally cover - something out of context, an opinion quoted as fact, or a deliberate misinterpretation...
This is none of those.
This is full-on disinformation.
Because that is NOT from the Express. It is entirely fake😱

This is what Farage and Johnson’s xenophobic Reform and Conservative Brexit campaigns actually did to UK migration.
At every point they use their failures as an excuse for the next disaster
Perhaps if you hadn’t given £10bn of our money to your shareholders you could have replaced more ancient pipework, made new resevoirs, or replace the hundred year old pump in my street to stop the houses flooding all the time?
Utter disgrace
Why are we seeing more leaks right now? Here's what's happening 👇
The recent hot, dry weather is putting extra pressure on our water network. When the ground dries out, it can shift putting more strain on the pipes. At the same time, higher demand for water increases the pressure in the network, making bursts and leaks more likely.
That's why our teams are currently fixing around 20% more leaks than normal - over 1,000 weekly, or one every 10 minutes.
We're also making major long-term improvements, replacing 100km of water mains since April last year as part of our biggest upgrade in 150 years.
With more than £500 million invested every year in finding and fixing leaks, we're working around the clock to reduce leakage and strengthen the network for the future. 💧
No thank you. You doubled my monthly payment, so I will double my usage.
You’re in trouble because of paying your directors millions in dividends instead of investing in infrastructure to reduce leaks and increase efficiency to prevent this.
I am not going to help you.
Following a very dry spring and three record-breaking heatwaves, water use across our region has soared—with some homes using 50% more than usual.
With the Met Office forecasting more hot, dry weather ahead, we’re implementing a hosepipe ban across our region, effective this Thursday 23 July. We’ve acted now to protect essential supplies so taps keep running for everyone's core needs.
While our teams work around the clock to fix leaks, we need your help too. We’re asking everyone to take a break from using:
❌ Hosepipes
❌ Sprinklers
❌ Jet washers
Please continue using water as needed to stay healthy and hydrated!
