1/ I’ve been going down a rabbit hole on $BUTTCOIN, and the more I look into it, the more I understand why this one feels different.
I think @buttcoin has a real shot at becoming a $1B meme. Let me explain why. 🧵
2/ First thing that got me interested:
$BUTTCOIN isn’t some meme created a few weeks ago.
The name goes all the way back to 2011. People were talking about $BUTTCOIN on BitcoinTalk when Bitcoin itself was still tiny.
That’s crazy when you really think about it.
3/ Then I started digging through the old history.
You find names like Gavin Andresen, Vitalik Buterin, Cobie, Roger Ver and Charlie Shrem connected to the old $BUTTCOIN culture.
I’m NOT saying any of them support the current Solana token.
I’m saying they were around the original $BUTTCOIN meme.
That history matters.
4/ Gavin Andresen was one of the biggest names in early Bitcoin development, and there was already a $BUTTCOIN interaction back in 2012.
Vitalik Buterin interacted with or referenced $BUTTCOIN years ago.
Cobie even joked that getting retweeted by $BUTTCOIN was the highlight of his career.
This isn’t some story invented yesterday.
5/ And here’s the part that really got me:
I’m a Bitcoin guy. I usually couldn’t care less about most Solana memes.
But I keep seeing Bitcoin holders, Ordinals users and Bitcoin-native accounts talking about $BUTTCOIN.
And I understand why.
They already know the joke.
6/ There’s a huge difference between discovering another random meme and seeing something you remember from 10+ years ago suddenly come back as a token.
It hits differently.
$BUTTCOIN has something most new memes can’t buy:
History.
7/ Then I started looking at the chain, and I was surprised.
$BUTTCOIN has 20K+ holders.
The biggest individual wallet is only around 2.2%.
The top 10 individual holders are around 14–15%.
The LP/DEX wallets are separate, and the creator basically has nothing.
That’s a pretty damn healthy distribution.
8/ It’s also been around for roughly 7+ months.
This isn’t a coin that launched yesterday, pumped for a few hours and disappeared.
There’s real liquidity, real trading and a large holder base.
We’re also seeing some big wallets accumulate while others sell.
That’s what you want to see.
9/ But the part I keep coming back to is the potential audience:
Bitcoin OGs → Bitcoin meme culture → Ordinals → Runes → $BUTTCOIN → Solana
If $BUTTCOIN becomes the meme coin for Bitcoin people, the addressable audience is much bigger than just Solana traders.
10/ At around a $15M market cap, reaching $1B would be roughly a 65x.
Obviously, nothing is guaranteed. It’s a meme coin, and it can get absolutely wrecked.
But after looking at the history, wallets and activity on X, I think @buttcoin has something most memes don’t:
Roots.
Bitcoin created the culture.
$BUTTCOIN was there near the beginning.
Now that old meme has a token, and I think we’re still very early.

A meme coin that's already paid $2 million to its holders. Not in its own token. In NEAR.
Every buy and sell pays a 3% tax that gets routed straight back to holders.
@NearkatSol lead @middaywake on the reflection flywheel.
$Buttcoin is the OG Memecoin. I founded it in May 2011, when the price of Bitcoin was just $8.
That was two years before Jackson Palmer tweeted out a joke that eventually lead to the development of Dogecoin.
That was also 3 years before Satoshi’s email was hacked and the Bitcoin project page was defaced to say “Buttcoin”.
And 4 years before the creation of Ethereum and the birth of the true alt-coin ecosystem.
Buttcoin has been mentioned by several big players in crypto for over a decade. Had multiple articles written about us. We’ve been engrained in the culture forever.
The only Bitcoin meme with 15 years of history behind it.
So if you’re looking for a true “OG” meme and a community to be proud of, it doesn’t get any better than $Buttcoin

Crypto space really has a choice - grow the f up or get sidelined with random regulations.
Saying we can not do anything when we are programming decentralized system is just untrue.
Banks run AI for fraud detection but are inherently centralized and require KYC. At the same time KYC doesn't solve any of real problems as we know.
We have better data and talent to create systems that don't require KYC and actually deter criminals while giving full freedom to real users.
By working together we can totally weed out crypto of criminal activity. Criminal TAM is way smaller than all of economy moving onchain we are targeting.
Decentralization != disorganization

I don’t understand something @CryptoMichNL . This is also an open, sincere question for traders & influencers who have been excited about $NEAR over the past month.
You seem to believe deeply in $NEAR as an asset & @NEARProtocol as a project. You repost Bitwise price targets of over $150. You seem to have done legitimate, deep research into NEAR’s world class technology & sound tokenomics.
But you trade in & out of it like it’s a quick trade, a memecoin you’re trying to earn a quick buck on.
I guarantee you that @CryptoHayes is kicking himself right now for ditching the holy trinity of $NEAR, $ZEC, and $HYPE. He made a great trade at the time, but ultimately lost.
There are many like you—traders, influencers who keep tabs on $NEAR, but keep it somewhat arms length, transactional. There is also a global army of crypto believers who follow your lead.
Don’t you want more than that?
Is moving in & out of transformative projects like NEAR truly the best, most profitable, most rewarding move, for you & your followers?
See what @TrustlessState has done by digging in & becoming part of this community? After building an entire career & reputation on one token, he courageously shifted course only after several years of giving it his all. He was slandered for it, but look at what he had achieved by going all in with NEAR & our friends at @Zcash & @AskVenice . He has been a part of all our success.
@andyyy & @robbieklages from @therollupco have built their platform on NEAR, & have been an important part of our community’s maturity.
VCs like @hosseeb & @avichal have held their bags since the beginning—plenty of chances to dump. But they haven’t. I’m a much smaller version of this too—been accumulating (at great prices) since 2021 and never sold. All of us have similar technical & fundamental skills as you, but we’ve gone all in.
And now look at @Bitwise . In the depths of crypto winter, @HHorsley , @Matt_Hougan & @BradleyDuke_ dove into the belly of the beast, and accumulated over $100M for their clients at prices half of where we are today. They weren’t hedging or doing risk management—they burned the boats.
And the line of strong handed institutions is getting longer by the day, just waiting to gobble up tokens from traders and weak hands.
Why don’t you just acquire & HODL a few tokens you truly believe in (hopefully $NEAR would be on that list), and work your tail off to support those projects without moving in and out?
It’s a free world & you can do what you want. I ask not to criticize but because I am genuinely curious how you reason it, & to respectfully charge you to join us & HODL $NEAR for the long term. If you truly believe what you just reposted—that $NEAR is on a path to $150+—then I have a hard time understanding any other investment strategy than going all in.
Not to mention the sense of purpose, community, & intrinsic reward one receives by being part of a mission bigger then themselves.
One of the biggest variables that has kept $NEAR suppressed until recent is its float, which was created by its accelerated inflation schedule. We need more, long term holders to commit. Institutions will definitely fill that gap. Converting short/medium term traders like you into long term community members also has the possibility to be powerful. Imagine if every influencer reposting about NEAR $150+ went all in as a HODLer, and grinded every day for the long term?
Would you be open to trying something new—to HODL through thick and thin, to stay focused and committed to $NEAR, and find deeper roots and meaning in your contribution to our ecosystem?
If so, we welcome you & your army with open arms for the long term.

Fun fact: the FTC still owns the original domain of the blog Buttcoin.org. I tried to buy it earlier this year when it was set to expire but they renewed it.
Hey @FTC, please give me my domain back. I will gladly pay 10k $Buttcoin (which will be worth 1 BTC shortly)

$BUTTCOIN IP UPDATE!
Our Trademark application was APPROVED for public publication by the examining officer at the USPTO.
They found our claims were valid and now they get published for public review. This is a brief hold period all applications go through that allows anyone to file a legal dispute against the claim. I don’t anticipate any disputes at this stage since I have filed as the original creator.
Final stretch. Last bit of administrative hold until full IP rights secured.
