At Avondale Elementary, we don’t just show up to school….WE ROLL UP TOGETHER! Building community and making memories….one pedal at a time! 🚲
BOUNCE BALL! A fun cooperative activity where students catch the ball as it bounces in different directions off the exercise ball. Teams earn a point for each catch. Bonus point if you include your whole team! Add a defender to encourage passing and even more teamwork! #PhysEd
🍕 PIZZA DELIVERY 🍕
Students work together to deliver their pizzas (poly spots) to the house (hula hoops). One of my favorite activities for building teamwork, communication, and a positive classroom community at the start of the school year!
So excited to have a former student now playing in the NBA! Congratulations to Darryn Peterson (@Darryn_P1) on being selected as the #2 pick in the NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz! 🏀
Our WHEELS UNIT teaches students how to ride a bike, scooter, and other wheels during #PhysEd! We’re excited to see our students confidently and safely exploring community parks, trails, and neighborhoods this summer using the skills they built in PE! 🚲
Each year, our students learn how to RIDE A BIKE in #PhysEd! Here is how we teach our students from START to FINISH with our @guardianbikes! 🚲
Core Memory Unlocked ✨🛴
Our 1st graders had a great time riding our @RazorWorldwide scooters through the hallways to celebrate positive behavior at school!
Rollerblading is one of our favorite units of the school year! Check out some of the ways we build confidence and ensure safety while making it fun and engaging for our students! 🔥
@GoRollerblade #PhysEd
Mini Golf + Math ⛳️ Our students PUTT their golf skills and math skills to work at Math Night. Roll the dice and then add, subtract, or multiply the numbers. After solving the math problem, try out the math themed mini golf hole!

First day of mini golf with 3rd-5th as we worked on our grip, stance, stroke and speed. We played Hula Hoop Golf from @mchamberlainPE @MrHamiltonPE and will be playing other great putting activities I learned from this last summer. #Physed #golf #MiniGolf #putting @D59SaltCreek
Collaboration in action! 🥍
Teamed up with our Youth Lacrosse Program and coaches to give 4th grade students a hands-on introduction to the sport of Lacrosse! Working together to grow the sport in our community while practicing cradling, scooping, shooting, and more!

This simple #PhysEd hack has always been a game changer for my Basketball Unit! Slide hula hoops in between the bleachers to create lower hoops giving students choice and more success! 🏀
GRINCH TAG is always a student favorite heading into Christmas Break! Using an RC car and a pool noodle, the Grinch tries to tag students moving around on the scooters! So much fun and so much laughter! Activity inspired by @physedreview!
