🇫🇮 New Finish study: More physical activity during school day associated with higher self-esteem for boys, lower reports of depression in girls, and positive prosocial skills for all. ▶️Cites research that school-based preventive programmes in general have only small beneficial effects on mental health ▶️But more physical activity easy to integrate into school day, with minimal effort by teachers

As the new year begins, my focus remains steady. Lead with energy, connection and discipline. Build environments where effort is encouraged and growth is expected. When learners feel supported, they ascend & achieve.
41
Success begins with CONNECTION. When students & athletes feel understood, they willingly engage. They take risks. They stay committed through difficulty. Genuine connection opens the door. Clear standards & a purpose-driven process show them how to walk through it.
15
Strong leadership creates confidence, & confidence creates growth. That confidence is built through clarity, consistency, and energy. Precision. Presence. Passion.
18
As the new year approaches & new goals are being set, one thing is clear across teams & classrooms: Most kids want to be great at something. They want to feel capable. They want to feel proud of their effort. They want results. They seek a leader who sees that desire & helps guide it with purpose towards achievement. As leaders, it is our duty to meet that desire with leadership that injects energy, gives direction, and promotes success.
17
Kids give more effort when they understand the WHY. Whether the setting is academic or athletic, PURPOSE drives ENGAGEMENT. When they know the meaning behind the work, they invest in it. Show them how each rep, each drill, each exercise, each task builds them & relates to their personal motivations. Beyond connection and relationship, purpose directly creates buy-in.
24
Learners notice when you’re prepared and ready for them…or when you’re not. Prepared teachers build positive environments. Prepared coaches build dependable teams. When your preparation is intentional, their confidence becomes natural. Preparation is fuel for true leadership.
16
On the field or in the classroom, EFFORT is the foundation no matter the arena. Students & athletes WILL GROW when they see & feel their effort translating into results. Once ability grows, BELIEF follows. Belief changes HOW & WHY they show up. Teach them to trust the hard work, not the difficult moment.

Learners rise to structure & standards. In both classrooms and teams, clarity & consistency gives them room to thrive. Discipline is all about removing confusion so that effort can increase. When the environment is steady, students/athletes can and will perform with confidence.

1️⃣ Clarity – Let them know exactly what success looks like. 2️⃣ Consistency – Follow through every single time. 3️⃣ Care – Let them feel you’re in their corner. That’s how you EARN their EFFORT. Every classroom is a team. Every team needs culture. Build it. Guard it. Lead it.

When structured with intention, Physical Education produces an environment where students learn to succeed, fail, strive, struggle, dream, plan, strategize, execute, lead, follow, think, act, feel, observe, react, etc. If we want to prioritize the growth and health of students, we must prioritize PE.
Our students need more recess, unstructured play, Physical Education, all the Arts, and extracurricular activities! That's how they learn to regulate emotions and interact with each other more positively.

Strength training in youth isn’t just SAFE, it enhances physical, mental, emotional and social health collectively. “They lay a foundation for stronger tendons, are less at risk for metabolic disease, and seem to have a greater growth potential.”
More kids are getting into exercise earlier than ever 💪 Hear more from @PEMSportsDoc on why resistance training can be a game-changer for kids. 👇 tinyurl.com/5d92r7z3

The BEST leaders bring the PASSION & the ENERGY!
Kenny Dillingham got to the stadium today at 5:15 a.m. ASU's practice ended just before 9:00 p.m. and the lights went out in the middle of Dillingham's presser. Yet Kenny was still as energetic as ever, talking about players getting to live the dream in Tempe. Built different.

💯 One of the best HoF speeches of all time from Jared Allen! 1. Always put Christ first 2. Find your why 3. Dream big dreams 4. Pursue greatness in everything you do.
“When I get called home to heaven one day, if all they talk about is this gold jacket, then I failed miserably as a father, a husband, & a friend. You two, [my daughters], are my legacy… Always put Christ first.” - NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Jared Allen

2: Vince Young’s TD Run vs USC. USC had won 34 in a row with most expecting them to beat Texas. Vince Young had an insane night capped off with a touchdown run on 4th down to take the lead
